Acorn Lodge is a gorgeous period townhouse located in the heart of the Victorian spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Beautifully decorated throughout, and with plenty of extra touches such as whirlpool baths, a wood burning stove and ensuite bathrooms, it doesn't take long to get into holiday mode whilst staying here. With a flexible layout, the seven eye catching bedrooms sleep 13 guests making it an ideal self-catering home to celebrate a special occasion or reunion for extended families and friends.
Step outside the front door and you will be spoilt for choice with the vast number of shops, eateries and attractions close by. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at the famous Betty's tea room just a ten minute walk away, or explore the cobbled streets that are lined with restaurants, cafes and bars. If you fancy an afternoon of retail therapy you will find a variety of stores ranging from quirky antique shops, independent jewellers and fashion boutiques, as well as all the traditional High Street names. Book yourself into the Turkish baths for a holiday treat, or simply admire the impressive buildings and pretty gardens.
If you are looking to explore a little further afield, the stunning landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is just a few miles away. Whether you are a keen outdoor enthusiast, an avid mountain biker, or you just enjoy spending time in the hills, there is plenty of beautiful scenery to explore. Test your metal on the Yorkshire Three Peak challenge, enjoy gently undulating walks in the limestone valleys, or explore the many pretty villages and castles. You can also go rock climbing, abseiling and potholing. If you want to leave your car behind you can hop on a bus to Pateley Bridge where you can visit the oldest sweet shop in the world after a stroll along the River Nidd. Other day trips can include sightseeing in York, visiting the grand palace at Castle Howard and exploring the National Trusts Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden.
