Keppoch Cottage is a charming three-bedroom holiday home near Crieff in Perthshire. With no nearby neighbours and a location at the end of a farm track, it feels as if you're miles from anywhere. However, the cottage is part of the 4,000 historic Monzie Estate (pronounced "Mon-ee", without the "z") which also features the seat of Clan Crichton, Monzie Castle. Although there's space for five people and a layout that suits families, Keppoch Cottage is also perfect for couples who want a Highland hideaway with room to spread out.
Crieff is a friendly town with lots to appeal to visitors. You can stop by a supermarket for the essentials. However, we highly recommend you visit the bakery and excellent delis for some local goodies, not forgetting to visit the Glenturret Distillery for their tour and well-stocked shop. You'll find all of the ingredients for a delectable meal in town with a choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants if you want to sit back and let someone else do the cooking. You'll often see locals and visitors enjoying walks beside the River Earn or around MacRosty Park, the latter of which has a popular playground where the kids can expend energy while you eat a picnic lunch.
The Highlands of Scotland are famous for their scenery that ranges from towering mountains to mysterious lochs with a few castles thrown in for good measure. If you love an adventure, then you'll find it waiting for you here, yet it's also a place where you can sit quietly and experience deep and abiding peace. Anglers have their choice of fishing spots on rivers, lochs and the coast. Try Kinkell Bridge for salmon and Drummond Loch for trout. There's a golf course for every day of the week within half an hour of the cottage, including the world-famous links of Gleneagles. You only have to step outside the front door for some of the most exhilarating hillwalking and mountain bike trails in Britain. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is around 20 miles from the Monzie Estate, and you're also under an hour's drive from the coast. There's no end to the diversity and beauty of the scenery for you to explore.
Keppoch Cottage is available for holiday bookings all year round and is as comfortable and welcoming in winter as in summer.
