The Bothy is the perfect place to hideaway. In a gorgeous location, half a mile up a private track, the cottage is ideal for solo travellers, couples or small families who want the experience of immersing themselves in the stunning Scottish countryside without compromising on comfort or convenience. There is space for three people to sleep in two bedrooms, with guests enjoying beautiful views south-west across Strathbraan.
The closest shops and amenities are five miles away in Dunkeld, a pretty Perthshire town on the banks of the River Tay known for its impressive, partially ruined cathedral, colourful houses and specialist shops. Don't miss the arched stone bridge constructed by Thomas Telford in 1809 to cross the Tay - there is an excellent view of it from the grounds of the cathedral.
Walking and cycling are both popular ways to explore the landscape, whilst mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and clay pigeon shooting are amongst the activities available locally. The Hermitage woodland is home to some of the tallest trees in Scotland and is beautiful at any time of the year, as is the Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve; famous for the ospreys which return annually to nest. Naturally, golf and fishing are favourite pastimes for locals and visitors, and you may also choose to liven up your day with a visit to one of the area's distilleries.
Places to visit within half an hour's drive of The Bothy include Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Pitlochry and Perth. However, with 12 acres of private pasture and woodland, and a south-west facing patio with incredible views of the mountains and countryside, you may be happiest sitting in the garden with a book and your binoculars, spotting birds during the day and stargazing at night.

Accommodation Comprises:
The Bothy is entirely self-contained. It is finished and furnished to a high standard to ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable in every season. Heating is a combination of electric under floor heating and radiators heated by the wood burning stove.
Outside: The Bothy has a south-west facing patio with garden furniture where guests can sit and enjoy a meal and watch the sun set. There is off-street parking for several cars.
Additional Information: All utilities, logs, sheets and towels are included. Smoking and vaping are not permitted. Water is from a private bore hole supply which is tested annually.
Children: Very regrettably, the property is unsuitable for children under the age of 12. This is because the log burner and its pipes become very hot and there is a steep rock face and unfenced ponds in the garden.
Accessibility: There are two steps leading to the front door and a further three steps up to the bedrooms and bathroom.
Energy Performance: EPC D rating.
