The lodge sleeps up to four guests and is situated on the Erigmore Estate alongside the River Tay in the Perthshire villages of Dunkeld and Birnam at the gateway of the Scottish Highlands. The area is renown for its spectacular scenery, fishing on the River Tay and its excellent golf courses.
Here you can explore some of Scotland's finest walking country and bike trails throughout the hills, rolling countryside and woods of the local area - a haven for wildlife with plenty of opportunities to spot rare varieties including red squirrels and a pair of breeding osprey that are best viewed from the nearby Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre at Loch of Lowes.
Guests of The Lodge also benefit from use of the estate facilities which include a heated swimming pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, and a sports area. Erigmore House also has an excellent bar within a short walk, which serves not only a fine range of wines and craft beers but also tea coffee and sweet treats. BT Sport is shown live in the adjoining conservatory. Providing a safe place to enjoy a holiday, the park has twenty four hour security (along with CCTV).
The villages of both Dunkeld and nearby Birnam conveniently sit at the 'Gateway to the Highlands' and are popular with holiday makers visiting Scotland. Easily accessible by road or train, this is an ideal holiday destination for exploring Perthshire and its stunning beautiful landscape.
Separated by the River Tay, Dunkeld and Birnam are linked together by the impressive bridge designed by Thomas Telford some two hundred years ago. Famed for its impressive cathedral that sits alongside the banks of the River Tay, Dunkeld offers an excellent range of independent shops to browse and also has a popular golf course (18 hole) where you can enjoy a game amongst stunning scenery. Birnam also has its own appeal and like Dunkeld, dates back to the Victorian times. With a strong influence in arts and performance, Birnam is home to the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Garden.
The Lodge provides an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland with the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow within driving distance (approximately an hour), along with the many attractions of Perthshire including castles, stately homes and gardens, pretty villages, historic towns, distilleries and fantastic golf courses within easy reach.
