About Bury Villa

Bury Villa is better than big - it's a spacious, comfortable holiday home which welcomes up to 20 (18+2) people who can sleep in seven lovely bedrooms. The house offers a variety of reception rooms designed to encourage people to congregate and socialise, as well as a few quiet places where you can escape for some peace and quiet. Bury Villa is everything you could wish for if you're planning a get together with your family and friends, whether it be for a holiday, to just catch up or celebrating a milestone event. The elegant Georgian gentleman's residence is in the seaside town of Gosport in Hampshire, a short stroll from shops, cafes and the excellent White Hart pub.

Gosport is a wonderful coastal town with plenty to offer holidaymakers in every season. Its position on the Solent makes it a favourite sailing hotspot but you don't have to get your feet wet to have fun. Gosport is easy to reach even if you don't drive - just take the train to Portsmouth and enjoy a scenic, five-minute ferry ride. Together with Lee-on-the-Solent, this area boasts 24 miles of coast which includes beautiful beaches, coastal walks, and busy harbours. Unsurprisingly, given its location, Gosport has an impressive naval heritage. Learn more at attractions like the Royal Navy Submarine Museum and Explosion! - Museum of Naval Firepower. A beautiful way to orientate yourself is to follow the two-mile Waterfront Trail that overlooks Portsmouth Harbour.

Outside of town, the picturesque Hampshire countryside awaits your discovery. There is a wealth of family-friendly trails including those around Warsash Common, Whiteley Woods, Titchfield Abbey, the Swanwick Nature Reserve, and Brownwich.

The owners have an adjoining holiday cottage, the Coach House, which sleeps up to nine guests. The two properties can be booked together to accommodate larger groups of friends or extended families. Please see their website for details.

Accommodation Comprises:

Bury Villa is an impressive period property with accommodation over three levels, a private garden, and ample off-street parking. Highlights include:

Ground Floor:

  • Hallway with door opening into the living/dining room, kitchen, and bedroom, with stairs rising to the first floor.
  • Open-plan living/dining room with tall windows and original fireplaces and doors. The living room has three big sofas plus relaxed seating where everyone can congregate and play games or watch TV. The dining table seats 19 people and looks wonderful dressed up for special meals.
  • Modern kitchen with quality fixtures and appliances to make cooking for groups easy, including a professional-standard double oven with six burners, and lots of tools and utensils.
  • Sunny breakfast room with seating for eight people next to the kitchen that is perfect for lazy breakfasts.
  • Utility room with a washing machine and a separate sink.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds and an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.

First Floor:

  • Two of the six bedrooms are family/triple bedrooms, each with a double and a single bed. Both are ensuite - one with a shower and the other with a shower and a bath.
  • Of the remaining four bedrooms, one is a double, one a triple with three single beds, one is a single room with a full-sized single bed, and the other is a quad/family room with a double bed and bunks.
  • All but one of the bedrooms is ensuite. All beds are made up with quality bed linen and fresh towels await guests' arrival.

Basement:

  • Games room with a pool table, table football and a large flatscreen TV.

Outside: Enclosed rear garden with a spacious area of lawn as well as a deck and paving with a barbecue and garden furniture. The driveway can fit up to eight cars. Hot tub hire is possible - please speak to the owner for further details.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. A travel cot (no bedding) is available if required. Bury Villa is pet friendly and we warmly welcome up to 3 medium sized well behaved four legged friends at an additional cost of £25 each per dog, per week/part week (However, to be fair to our neighbours no continuous barkers please). Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking indoors is not permitted.

In addition to the rental cost there is a £500 refundable damages deposit, which is fully refundable within 7 working days of your departure, obviously subject to no significant damages or excessive cleaning.
