The Garden Studio is telling you nicely that you need a holiday. Imagine the bliss of luxuriating in the king-sized double bed as you wake up slowly to the gentle alarm of birdsong, knowing that you have an entire day where you can do exactly what you please, even if it's nothing at all! The contemporary holiday home is beautifully furnished with studio accommodation entirely on the ground floor. It's perfect for couples or solo visitors who don't want a self-catering holiday but who also don't want to stay in a hotel. There are tea and coffee-making facilities and a continental or cooked breakfast is included. You're only a short stroll from the centre of Minehead and a variety of excellent cafes, restaurants and friendly pubs like the Quay Inn.
Minehead has been a popular resort since Victorian times although its history dates back centuries earlier. The Garden Studio is at the foot of North Hill, the oldest part of town where historians have found evidence of a Bronze Age settlement. The elevated position affords guests fantastic views over the quay. Wander down to Quay Town, or climb the long flight of steps to St Michael's Church and admire the surrounding thatched cottages. The South West Coast Path starts at the harbour, and there is an elegant promenade along the seafront. Minehead's two beaches are packed with sunseekers in summer. After September the atmosphere changes from a buzzing coastal resort town to a quiet community with uninterrupted opportunities for long walks along the sand. Other scenic walks include Culvercliffe via the seafront, through Hopcott Woods to Dunster, and on North Hill. Minehead also has some fantastic cycling routes including those to Porlock, Porlock Weir, and Dunkery Beacon.
You don't have to leave Minehead to have a wonderful stay but, should you choose you explore you'll be delighted by the variety of places to see and things to do. Minehead is on the eastern edge of Exmoor National Park and within easy reach of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, both popular places for mountain biking and horseriding. National Trust Dunster Castle is three miles away, and there is a host of charming towns and villages to discover including Lynton, Lynmouth, and Watchet.
