Seagulls Rest is a fantastic waterfront cottage in the famous seaside resort town of Minehead. Despite being just steps away from the Bristol Channel, the four-bedroom Victorian property, which sleeps up to seven people, is in a quiet location close to Culvercliffe reserve at the end of a road, with very little passing traffic. The front windows overlook the water, the rear ones look out onto a lovely wooded area, and it is only a short walk from the welcoming Ship Aground pub at Minehead Harbour.
Families, friends and couples all enjoy Minehead's many and varied attractions all year round. There are two beaches - one sand and one shingle - as well as a long seafront promenade and beautiful communal gardens with areas for both relaxing strolls and energetic playing. The West Somerset Railway has a terminus at Minehead, with a journey in one of its vintage carriages providing a fantastic and memorable way to enjoy the local countryside views. There is a wide choice of shops and places to eat and drink, with a mix of independent and familiar high street names to meet your needs.
Seagulls Rest is dog-friendly, and there are lots of fantastic walks in the area to suit visitors with both two and four legs. Favourite destinations from Minehead include Porlock (including Porlock Weir), Selworthy Beacon and Dunster, and with the South West Coast Path starting in the town, you can spend all day exploring the beautiful coastline. Minehead borders the Exmoor National Park, opening up many more miles of fantastic walks to visitors, and the Quantock Hills AONB is also within easy reach. Mountain bikers also love this area for the wealth and diversity of routes, offering something for all abilities.
Somerset is a beautiful year-round holiday destination with places to visit that include Bossington, Selworthy and Horner. There are numerous golf courses, salt and freshwater fishing, surfing, sailing and paddle-boarding. Family-friendly attractions include the Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre, Tropiquaria Zoo and Exmoor Zoo, and there are lots of parks, gardens and National Trust properties around which you can plan a fun day out.
The cottage has off-street parking for one car plus a parking permit for a second. However, Minehead is ideal for people who do not have a car as it has excellent public transport links, footpaths and cycling routes.
