79 Hillside Villa is a holiday cottage in Millendreath near Looe, set above the beach with open views across the bay towards Black Rock. The terrace faces straight out to sea, giving you space to sit outside and watch the tide shift through the day. It’s close enough to hear the gulls and, on busier days, the low vibe of coastal life on the beach below. A beach bar and café are just a couple of minutes' walk from the door. The villa sleeps four in one double bedroom and one twin, making it a straightforward choice for couples, friends sharing or a small family looking for time by the coast.
Millendreath is in a small and peaceful wooded valley about two miles east of Looe and is a blissful retreat from busy lives. The beach opens up at low tide, leaving space for rock pooling and paddling, while in summer there’s seasonal water-sports hire for surfing, kayaking, and bodyboarding. The South West Coast Path runs through the valley, and the walk into Looe takes around 25 minutes along the shoreline. Looe is a working harbour town, not just a postcard one. Fishing boats still come and go with the tide, and the streets are lined with independent shops, cafés and pubs rather than chains. Its friendly atmosphere that appeals to locals and visitors alike.
Beyond Looe, South East Cornwall offers a mix of sheltered coves, coastal paths and wooded river valleys. Talland Bay sits just along the coast, while Polperro, with its narrow lanes and clustered cottages, is a short drive away. Inland, the landscape moves to rolling countryside and small market towns, with easy access to attractions such as The Eden Project and the wider Cornish coastline. From this base, you can spend mornings on the beach, afternoons walking the coast, and still be back on the terrace before the light fades over the water.
