Rock Cottage is set within its own grounds and located in lovely peaceful countryside in Powys, Mid Wales. This charming stone detached holiday cottage provides a rural retreat where you can relax, enjoy hill walking or use as a base for exploring the area.
Located between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains and three miles east of Brecon town, Rock Cottage affords countryside views over pasture and woodland to the nearby mountains. Close by to the cottage is an open common, well known for its birds and wild flowers, and within the immediate countryside are easy walks along flower-lined lanes and across rolling pastures.
Within a short drive are the mountains, a boating canal, Llangors Lake, the River Usk, Brecon Mountain Railway and Talybont Reservoir.
The delightful little town of Brecon has a cathedral, museum, cinema, leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, theatre, riverside promenade and a good variety of shops and places where you can eat.
Nearby are the rural towns of Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye (well known as the largest second-hand book centre in the world), along with the historic iron-making town of Merthyr Tydfil and the World Industrial Heritage site of Blaenafon.
For those who want to relax on the beach, the sandy beaches of the Gower are only an hours drive, as is the National Botanic Garden of Wales, which is close to the town of Llandeilo.
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy locally include pony trekking, canoeing, sailing, tennis, bowls, cycling and a wonderful variety of lovely walks for all energy levels, ranging from level canal towpaths to steep mountain climbs.

Cosy lounge with open fireplace, colour television, DVD player and VCR.
Large dining room with additional easy chairs, radio/tape recorder and an door leading out onto a patio which overlooks a meandering stream.
Fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a good supply of utensils etc.
Cloakroom/W.C.
Double, twin and single bedrooms.
Bathroom/shower, with washbasin and WC.
Outside: Spacious garden area with garden furniture, lawns, patios, waterfall, stream, wild flower reserve, mountain views and ample parking.
Additional information: Economy 7 heating, plus free standing convector heaters in all rooms. Blankets and duvets on all beds. Cot (no bedding supplied) and high chair provided. Bed linen available with beds made up for arrival for an additional £10 per bed. Towels and tea towels are not provided. Electricity is charged at the Electricity Board’s rate. No smoking within the cottage and pets are not allowed. Off peak short breaks available.
