The cottage and its location beside Gayle Beck are perfect for families and friends, especially those who want a peaceful home-away-from-home to stay while they explore the countryside, towns and villages that make North Yorkshire one of the most popular places for a holiday in the UK.
Gayle is as pretty as a picture. Too small to be a village, the hamlet is only half a mile from the market town of Hawes in Wensleydale. You'll find all of the shops and amenities necessary for a self-catering holiday in Hawes, including a weekly market every Tuesday. We highly recommend you visit the Wensleydale Creamery for tasty local goodies and the chance to learn about cheesemaking. Just past the house you can join the Pennine way which has lovely views of the beck and the Mill.
When you stay at Watersdale End, the opportunity for adventure is endless. Hardraw Force, Aysgill Force and Aysgarth Falls are accessible on foot or mountain bike, and you won't want to miss the spectacular sight of the Ribblehead Viaduct. Explore The Forbidden Corner, or treat yourself to a spa day. Visit Bolton Castle or Middleham Castle, the latter of which is where Richard III spent his childhood. Kendal and the Lake District National Park are under 30 miles from Watersdale End, providing even more scope for sightseeing. Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and a doggy welcome pack is provided. Bed linen, bath towels, basic toiletries and cleaning items are included, as are WiFi and utilities.
