Tryst Cottage offers Four Star self-catering for four guests in two bedrooms. Dating back to 1750 the cottage provides the perfect mix of character features, blended with modern conveniences including oak beams, exposed stone, dishwasher and high speed unlimited WiFi internet access.
Ideally placed in the picturesque Yorkshire village of Ingleton, the cottage is within easy walking distance of the famous Ingleton Waterfalls, pubs and shops. Sitting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Tryst Cottage provides the perfect retreat for those who enjoy walking and exploring with an abundance of attractions within easy reach including the Forest of Bowland, Cumbrian coast and even the Lakes for a day trip out.
With a beautiful bespoke hand carved four poster bed, 'Aga style' range cooker in the kitchen, log burner in the sitting room (plus full central heating) and patio for alfresco dining, this dog-friendly cottage is a perfect retreat all year round.
Ingleton's pretty village sits right at the heart of the Three Peaks and offers a good choice of shops for provisions, teashops (essential after a long walk!), pubs for meals out and even an open-air swimming pool in warmer months - all just a short stroll from Tryst Cottage. The village is home to White Scar Caves, Britain's longest show cave, and one of the country's most famous waterfalls with a picturesque circular wooded walk which attracts people from far and wide. Its pure natural beauty spreads throughout every month of the year with wonderful walks through the glorious Dales landscape from the front door, providing access to many beauty spots including the mountains of Whernside and Ingleborough.
If you're looking for more sedate relaxing options, the area offers those too! Enjoy leisurely car rides along pretty country lanes providing stunning scenery enroute; or take a nostalgic trip on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway from Ribblehead Station (fifteen minute car ride) - a spectacular route claimed to be the country's most scenic train journey.
For those who can tear themselves away from the beauty that surrounds, there are plenty of fabulous day trips out. Visit the historic market towns of Settle and Hawes, or the pretty villages of Dent with its cobbled streets and Malham with its breathtaking limestone scenery. Discover the beauty of the Forest of Bowland (pony trekking at Greenhall Riding Centre is a great way of seeing the forest and indeed all of the three peaks due to its central location), the Cumbrian Coast, Lune Valley and even the Lake District with Windermere accessible in just half an hour away by car. The choices are endless and we are confident you will want to stay for more than a week!
