About The Wishing Well Apartment

The Wishing Well Apartment is a well-positioned, single-level holiday retreat for two, tucked just a short walk from the centre of Settle. It’s an easy place to settle into, with its own private entrance and a quiet garden that gives you space away from the bustle without feeling cut off. Welcoming on-site hosts available to assist while respecting guest privacy. Inside, the layout is simple and comfortable, designed for relaxed stays rather than formality, while the outdoor hot tub adds that extra reason to slow down at the end of the day. Everything you need is within reach, whether that's heading out for a walk straight from the door or wandering into town for something to eat. The Golden Lion is an easy option for a laid-back evening, close enough that you don't need to think twice about heading out.

Settle has a strong sense of place, with a mix of everyday life and visitors passing through on their way to the Dales. It’s busy enough to feel lively but never overwhelming. Independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs line the streets, and the market square often draws people together throughout the day. Ye Olde Naked Man Café is a favourite for fresh bread and something sweet, Attermire is popular for delicious lunches and brunches and Nettle great for cocktails and small plates. The train station is less than 10 minutes on foot, giving easy access to the scenic Settle-Carlisle Railway, and buses run regularly to nearby towns, so getting around is straightforward without a car.

Step beyond the town and the landscape quickly shifts into classic Yorkshire Dales scenery. Walking routes range from gentle riverside paths to more challenging climbs, including Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside. For something a little slower, Malham Cove and the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail are both well worth the visit. The Ribblehead Viaduct is another standout, easily reached by car or train. If you're in the mood to explore further afield, Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal both make good day trips. Back at the apartment, things feel quieter again, with the option to light the fire pit or spend the evening in the hot tub.

Accommodation Comprises: A comfortable, single-level apartment for two with private outdoor space and a hot tub, within easy walking distance of Settle town centre. Accommodation is all on one level. Situated on the same grounds as the owner's home, guest privacy fully respected.

  • Open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area: A relaxed, practical space with a 40-inch HDTV, dining table and a well-equipped kitchen including induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and all the essentials for cooking at home.
  • Bedroom: A cosy and inviting room with quality bed linen, storage for clothes, and extra pillows and blankets for added comfort.
  • Bathroom: Fresh and well-presented with a shower, toiletries provided and plenty of hot water after a day outdoors.
  • Dedicated workspace: A separate area with WiFi, useful if you need to catch up on anything during your stay.

Outside: The apartment has its own private garden with a patio, outdoor seating, and space to dine when the weather allows. There's a BBQ, fire pit, and sun loungers for relaxed afternoons, along with a private hot tub (available at an additional cost) available year-round. Parking is available in the driveway, with additional on-street parking available if needed. Public EV charging is a 5-minute walk. There is bike storage with electricity for electric bikes.

Additional Information: WiFi, utilities, bed linen, bath towels and toiletries are included. Two well behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
