About Tarn Brow

Tarn Brow will knock your walking socks off. Newly refurbished, the holiday home is on the ground floor of Langcliffe House and is wonderfully comfortable for couples, families, and friends. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is fully equipped for a self-catering holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. The location is superb. Stroll into Settle, where everything from waterproofs to award-winning cheeses is provided by independent businesses. If you don't want to cook, you'll find excellent cafes and traditional inns serving seasonal menus packed with delicious local produce. Staying at Tarn Brow puts you within a stone's throw of famous sights and fantastic walking and cycling trails.

Langcliffe House is at the heart of Langcliffe Park, a family-owned holiday resort popular with families and couples for its peaceful setting a mile from Settle. It's an easy walk or cycle from your apartment to the centre of town. Visit on Tuesday morning for the busy market before wandering along narrow lanes known as ginnels. Settle has a thriving community which swells in summer months as visitors come to enjoy the stunning surrounds not only of the Yorkshire Dales National Park but also the Forest of Bowland. Save time to visit the Museum of North Craven Life in the Grade I listed Folly, and to admire the decor of Grade II Listed Victoria Hall.

From Langcliffe Park, you can walk to Castleberg Rock and jump straight on the Pennine Cycleway. The Settle to Carlisle Railway is a scenic treat through 73 miles of glorious Yorkshire countryside, and you're only 12 miles from the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. A favourite local walk goes through Castlebergh Woods to Jubliee Cave and the Victoria and Albert Cave, returning via Scaleber Force. Alternatively, follow the riverside walk to Stainforth, passing through stone villages with mills along the way.

Whenever you can escape, whether it's for a weekend, a spontaneous mid-week break, or a much-longed week away, Tarn Brow is the perfect holiday home for you.
