Little Brook Cottage is a charming cottage with plenty of original 16th Century features smoothly incorporated with modern touches that make it a welcoming, comfortable holiday home for couples and families. The house is in the village of Hebden in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to Grassington and a short walk from the Clarendon Hotel. It is dog friendly and can sleep up to four people in two bedrooms.
Hebden is a pretty village with traditional stone cottages and not much passing traffic. It has an excellent pub well known for its food and cafe just a few minutes stroll from Little Brook - perfect for a lazy brunch or delicious afternoon tea. The cottage is named for the brook that runs beside it, which flows to the nearby River Wharfe that you can cross on the Hebden Suspension Bridge. Footpaths lead from the village, and there is a lovely walk into nearby Grassington. Popular trails include those to Conistone, Burnsall and Linton, and around the Grimwith Reservoir. Other places to consider are Bolton Abbey, Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, and the Kilnsey Park Estate and fisheries. The long-distance Dales Way footpath passes close by, giving walkers stunning views in every season.
Cycling is almost as popular as walking in Yorkshire, and the county is renowned for the quality of its road loops and mountain bike trails. If guests need to hire a bike, they can do so in Nidderdale Cycles near Harrogate which is around a 20-minute drive from the cottage. Day trips can include shopping in Harrogate, walking around Skipton market and seeing the castle, visiting the locals at Hesketh Farm Park, golf, horseriding, climbing or caving.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a favourite holiday destination all year round as it has lots to offer both indoors and outside. It looks beautiful in the sunshine or the rain, and with historic market towns and lots of all-weather attractions, you will always find something fun to do.
