Newhome Cottage is situated in Copgrove, a small rural hamlet close to Knaresborough and Harrogate, and is ideal for visiting the local area. It is 4 miles from the A1M, 8 miles from the centre of Harrogate, 6 miles from Ripon and a short drive on to Fountains Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales. York is 21 miles and a 35 minute journey by car.
There are many National Trust properties and sites to visit within our local area including the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with the Deer Park and Water Gardens. You can spend a whole day wandering through the park and gardens. Brimham Rocks is another National Trust property offering amazing rock formations created 400 million years ago, with a circular walk around the site providing a gentle sightseeing stroll. The more adventurous can climb the rocks to get the best views into Nidderdale and beyond.
Harlow Carr Gardens is an RHS property situated on the edge of Harrogate with one of the famous Betty's cafes and restaurant on site. Alternatively a visit to the main Betty's in the centre of Harrogate is well worth the experience.
Both Ripon and York Minsters, which both began construction in the 13th century, are nearby and well worth a visit and York offers plenty to do and see in the city itself.

There is a very nice pub that offers lunches and evening meals a short distance away in the nearby village of Staveley. We have lots of countryside walks from the cottage, including a nature reserve, and there is a large supermarket in Boroughbridge 4 miles away for all groceries. There is also a post office and general store close by in the village of Burton Leonard (1.5 miles)
The cottage is suitable for two people for short stays or week long bookings, dogs are accepted but please enquire before booking.
We have been letting our cottage for over 10 years now and try to provide everything needed for short weekend breaks or week long stays.
Newhome Cottage is a small self contained detached cottage with bed sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and walk in shower. Outside there is a paved patio with table and chairs, and there is a large parking area to the front of the cottage. Inside the cottage we try to provide everything that most people need for a short stay.
