Linhay Cottage sits in one of the most picturesque and serene corners of the English countryside, on a 120-acre mixed farm close to the hamlet of Birtsmorton and next to the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is no passing traffic and no light pollution, so you are likely to enjoy the best sleep of your life! The cottage is a skilful blend of traditional style with modern touches, including enormous windows that frame the fantastic views, and a layout that makes it suitable for guests requiring easy access. The cottage sleeps two guests in one bedroom and is ideal for couples, although a generously-sized sofa bed and put-up beds can accommodate four additional guests if necessary. Peaceful yet near to towns 7-miles away, Linhay Cottage offers the best of both worlds.
Birtsmorton is a short, three-minute drive (or half hour walk) from Linhay, where you will find an excellent local dog-friendly pub, the Farmer’s Arms, serving real ale and home cooked meals. You can pick up essential supplies at the village stores in Pendock and Welland, or drive the ten-mile route to Great Malvern where there is a wide variety of places to shop, eat and drink.
Linhay is perfect for people who enjoy spending time outdoors. From listening to the birds at sunrise to counting the plethora of stars visible in the dark skies - every moment is a wonder. Several National footpaths can be accessed from the front door of the cottage, as well as walks around the farm. The Malvern Hills offers beautiful views from footpaths of varying degrees of challenge, but you only have to stroll around Birtsmorton and neighbouring Castlemorton to appreciate the beauty of the Worcestershire countryside. The Malvern Hills are also popular with mountain bikers, while keen equestrians will be happy to know that the owners at Linhay offer accommodation for up to four horses and can arrange for a guide to share their local knowledge and show you the best sights.
One of the many attractions of Linhay Farm is its proximity to beautiful historic cities like Gloucester, Cheltenham, Worcester and Hereford; attractions like NT Croome Court nearby and the Birds of Prey Centre at Newent; the popular wedding venues of Birtsmorton Court (just 1.1 miles) and Eastnor Castle (5.9 miles); the Three Counties Showground (6.9 Miles); Bredon Hill, May Hill, Bromyard and Leominster, plus lots of festivals. Towns like Ledbury, Tewkesbury, Upton-on-Severn and Ross-on-Wye are within easy driving distance, as are the Cotswold villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Upper and Lower Slaughter, putting guests staying at Linhay Cottage in the heart of one of England’s most picturesque regions.
The area also offers a good choice of more unusual things to do including:
