Yew Cottage is the perfect place for couples or families to relax and unwind. The pretty cottage, which is one of six self-catering properties on the Graiglwyd Estate, sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms with guests having access to an acre of gardens. Visitors can enjoy the best of the North Wales coast and mountains when they stay at Graiglwyd Holiday Cottages, as the nearest beach, Penmaenmawr, is only a mile away and Snowdonia National Park is also close.
Four miles from the cottage, Conwy is an excellent place not only to shop for supplies, but to soak up the beauty and heritage of this popular attraction. Conwy Castle, completed in 1289 as part of Edward I's imposing "Iron Circle" of castles, still impresses with its magnificent stature today, and a walk around the town's thick stone walls is a good way to orientate yourself with the lie of the land. Conwy's historic buildings also include a superb example of a Tudor merchant's house as well as pubs that have been serving patrons for centuries. Thanks to King Edward's desire to dominate Wales in its entirety, there is no shortage of castles in North Wales, and Harlech, Caernarfon and Beaumaris are all within easy reach.
Having the beautiful Snowdonia National Park on the doorstep gives visitors plenty of opportunities for rambling, hill walking, climbing and mountain biking. There are routes for all abilities, and if the idea of climbing Snowdon on foot puts you off then book a ticket on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway and take the journey that millions of others have taken since the train started running in 1896. The coast is as spectacular as the mountains, with everything from traditional seaside resorts like Llandudno to secluded sandy coves.
Attractions nearby include Surf Snowdonia, Zip World and Bodnant Garden. Keen anglers well enjoy having the Graiglwyd Springs Fishery onsite which has an excellent reputation for fly fishing.
Yew Cottage can be booked on its own for short breaks or longer stays all year round. It is ideal if you are travelling with a bigger group of extended family or friends as it can also be booked together with one or more of the other Graiglwyd Holiday Cottages. Please refer to the owner's website for more details.
