Oak Cottage is one of six beautiful self-catering cottages on the private Graiglwd Estate. The location on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park is perfect for a self-catering holiday in North Wales, as it is only four miles from the historic town of Conwy and enjoys stunning views across the Menai Straights to the Isle of Anglesey. Oak Cottage is dog-friendly, with space for up to six people to sleep in three bedrooms. The cottage is of a traditional style that fits in with its surroundings yet offers guests all modern conveniences including WiFi, power showers and central heating.
The Graiglwd Estate is at the end of a long driveway so there is no passing traffic to mar the sound of birdsong and sense of serenity. Conwy is a short drive or a leisurely bike ride from the cottage, and a day spent exploring this medieval walled town with its imposing castle, shops, museums and places to eat and drink, will be a highlight of your stay.
Although it feels peaceful and isolated from noise and bustle, there are excellent road links close to the estate, making it easy to reach places like the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno, with its beautiful beach and promenade, as well as favourite attractions like Caernarfon Castle, Bodnant Garden, Beaumaris Castle and Rhuddlan Castle. Keen anglers will enjoy being close to the Graiglwyd Springs trout fishery, while adrenaline lovers can get their thrills at Zip World and Surf Snowdonia, where the break is always perfect.
Having the spectacular Snowdonia National Park on the doorstep opens up a wealth of hiking and biking opportunities, with a route or trail to suit every ability. Pony trekking, climbing and gorge walking are just a few more exciting ways to immerse yourself in the scenery, or put your feet up and enjoy it from the comfort of the Snowdon Mountain Railway which has been scaling Wales' highest peak since 1896.
The cottages on the Graiglwd Estate have been carefully furnished to be welcoming and comfortable, and somewhere you can forget the irritations of everyday life and enjoy having space and time to relax.
Cottages can be booked individually or together to accommodate larger groups of extended family and friends. See the owner's website for more details.
