The Old Post Office is perfectly placed for a seaside holiday, located in the peaceful Pembrokeshire village of Marloes. The glorious golden beaches of Marloes and Musslewick are just minutes away and the wildlife haven of Skomer Island is close by.
Light and airy, The Old Post Office comfortably sleeps eight to ten guests in four bedrooms where guests can enjoy plenty of space to relax and unwind together, along with gorgeous secluded gardens for when the sun shines. There is also a one bedroom annexe (see separate advert) with its own entrance and patio available to rent separately or alongside The Old Post Office to accommodate larger parties of up to twelve - perfect for gatherings of extended family.
The Marloes Peninsula is a true gem in the Pembrokeshire crown and perfect for anyone looking for good walking, wildlife and stunning scenery. Connected by the Puffin Shuttle coastal bus, exploring the Pembrokeshire coastal path could not be easier or more enjoyable with its breathtaking seascapes to enjoy along the way. It is hardly surprising that National Geographic voted this beautiful destination one of the world's best places to visit, particularly given the high accolades given to Pembrokeshire's beaches being amongst the best on the planet!
Marloes glorious golden sands line one side of Marloes Peninsula, whilst Musslewick bay lines the other. Musslewick beach is just a fifteen minute walk from The Old Post Office and a lovely spot whether you are visiting at low tide to relax on the sand, or want to take a dip from the rocks at high tide. There is also a pub and a café/restaurant in Marloes village for a meal out, as well as a shop for forgotten provisions and a play area for children on the village green.
Skomer Island attracts wildlife lovers from far and wide to see the seals and seabirds and boat trips are available from Martins Haven, at the tip of the peninsula, during the spring and summer months. The area also offers great opportunities for kayaking, surfing, fishing, sailing and for those who like to be on dry land, cycling and climbing.
For those who can tear themselves away from the beauty that surrounds The Old Post Office, there are plenty of lovely places to visit in the local area. A short drive, alternatively an awesome walk or cycle ride across the airstrip overlooking Marloes Sands and the wild and beautiful West Dale, is the picturesque village of Dale. A mecca for water sports (windsurf boards, kayaks, paddle boats and sailing dinghies can be rented), crabbing or jumping off the pontoon for the little ones, Dale has a characterful pub (the Griffin), Coco’s Brasserie at the yacht club and a beach café. Along the St Brides coast is Little Haven, Broad Haven, Newgale, Solva and St Davids. Further afield are the equally stunning beaches of South Pembrokeshire including Barafundle and Bosherston with its beautiful lilly ponds and otters – another must for wildlife and bird enthusiasts.
For those inclement days when you want a break from the beach, the colourful city of St Davids provides a welcome retreat, as does Solva with its picturesque harbour, the market town of Narberth with its little shops, eateries and excellent Spanish Deli for stocking up on nibbles for pre-dinner drinks back at the house and Tenby.
For the younger party members, a trip to Folly Farm or Oakwood Adventure Park are sure to be a holiday highlight.
