About The Old Post Office Annexe

The Old Post Office Annexe is ideally situated to enjoy the Pembrokeshire coast and to visit Skomer island.  Located in the peaceful village of Marloes with easy access to Marloes Sands, Musslewick and Martins Haven, the embarkment point for boats to the islands.

Originally the village post office, the one bedroom flat provides spacious and characterful self-catering accommodation with a lovely mix of modern and traditional to include wood flooring, central heating, a roll-top bath for a long soak after a day's walk or a shower and a log burner.

The Pembrokeshire coastal path is spectacular, voted one of the best places to visit in the world by the National Geographic in 2012 and in 2010, the county’s beaches were also named among the best coastal destinations on the planet,  The village is on the Marloes peninsula. The long and magnificent Marloes sands, is on one side (watch the trailers for Snow White and the Huntsman and look out for cavalry beach assault) and the lessor known, but exquisitely beautiful Musslewick bay, is on the other. Musslewick is the closest beach, a fifteen minutes walk, and whilst accessible at low tide only, the lagoon type bay can be accessed for swimming at any time from the rocks. At the head of the peninsula is Martins Haven, where in spring and summer there are daily boats to Skomer Island, a wildlife haven for rare birds and seals.

If you love the outdoors there’s loads to do: great walking, swimming, surfing, sailing, kayaking, climbing, horse-riding, diving, cycling and fishing. There is a village pub serving lunches and dinners, a café/restaurant, a shop and a children’s play area in the village green. Just five minutes away by car, alternatively a spectacular walk or cycle ride cycle across the disused airstrip on the cliffs overlooking Marloes Sands and the wild and beautiful West Dale, is the picturesque Dale. A mecca for water sports, (windsurf boards, kayaks, paddle boats and sailing dinghies can be rented), Dale boasts a pontoon (a big favourite with little ones who love the crabbing), a characterful gastro pub, The Griffin, with its famous wall overlooking the bay, on which, on a good evening, the world and his dog perches their pint, Cocos Brasserie at the yacht club and a beach-side cafe/shop.

Along the St Brides coast, just fifteen minutes by car, is the idyllic chocolate box village, Little Haven, with choice of three pubs and restaurants . Further along the coast is the easily accessible Broadhaven, followed by Newgale, great for wind and kite surfing, Solva with its charming harbour and the beautiful cathedral city of St Davids.

On the other side is South Pembrokeshire with equally stunning beaches including Barafundle and Bosherston with its beautiful lily ponds and otters – another must for wildlife and bird enthusiasts.

On rainy days there's the characterful market town Narberth, with its chic boutiques, and more cosmopolitan eateries - the Spanish restaurant/deli Ultracomida with selection of excellent wines, cheeses and charcuterie, or the equally uplifting Plum and Vanilla - does great salads and mezes. Not far from Narberth is the beautiful Tenby with its architectural splendour. If you have little ones you can fit in a trip to Folly Farm or Oakwood Adventure Park en route.
