The Old Chapel is a fantastic space with high ceilings, stained glass windows and plenty of natural light - perfect for a couple (or an adult with infant) who wants to escape to the peace of the West Wales countryside. It is one of three beautiful self-catering holiday cottages at Hendre House, renovated to a high standard with on-site amenities that include a heated indoor swimming pool and barbecue cabin. The owners have taken care to ensure all of their properties are both baby and pet-friendly, and they provide high chairs, cots and stairgates if required.
Hendre House Cottages are only a few miles from Solva and just outside the border of the gorgeous Pembrokeshire National Park. The harbourside village is an excellent place to start your exploration of the region as it not only has a good variety of shops to stock up on food for your holiday in Pembrokeshire, but it also has some fantastic places to eat and drink if you don't feel like cooking, as well as galleries and boutiques to browse. Sitting by the quay on a sunny day, it is hard to imagine anywhere more perfect.
The beautiful beaches and coastline are two of Pembrokeshire's main attractions. The Old Chapel is only a five-minute drive from both Whitesands Bay and Newgale Beach, both of which are as perfect for a day of dozing in the sun as they are for an energetic surf, swim or kiteboard session. Spanning the entire 186-miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast, the Pembrokeshire Coast Footpath is ideal for both serious walkers and those who enjoy a casual stroll, providing spectacular views from many vantage points. The nearby Preseli Hills is also a haven for walkers as well as cyclists with excellent trails.
Six miles from the cottage, St Davids beckons with its breathtaking cathedral, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Granted city status in 1995, it is a welcoming place with a relaxed atmosphere. Other nearby places to visit include the Scolton Manor Estate, Llys y Fran Country Park, Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park. While on holiday you can go fishing or play golf, learn to surf, kayak or try your hand at coasteering. However, with excellent facilities on site at Hendre House, you may be perfectly happy spending the day swimming and playing in the garden, followed by a relaxing barbecue as you watch the sunset.
The Old Chapel can be booked on its own or together with one of the two other properties on the estate for visitors who are on holiday with their extended family or friends. You can find out more on the owner's website.

Outside: The Old Chapel has a private courtyard with garden furniture, a kettle charcoal barbecue and a log store. Guests also have use of the shared facilities on site which include a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub and a barbecue hut. Car park available (you can pull-up outside the cottage to off-load).
Additional Information: All utilities, sheets, bath towels and essential cleaning equipment are included. Guests to provide towels for use at the beach and swimming pool if they are required. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner. The Old Chapel is available for short breaks outside of school holidays, with a minimum stay of three nights. Smoking is not permitted.
