Herne Cottage invites you to relax and unwind from the moment you arrive. The stone cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, providing very comfortable 4-Star self-catering accommodation for couples and families who come to enjoy West Wales. Its location just outside of Solva and the Pembrokeshire National Park could not be more perfect, and with on-site facilities that include an indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub and children's playground, it is understandable that this and the other two properties at Hendre House Cottages are so popular.
Staying at Herne Cottage means that you have a fantastic array of days out to choose from, starting with the friendly village of Solva. Walk, cycle or drive the few miles from the cottage and you will discover not only a picturesque harbour but also a great choice of places to eat, drink and shop. It is the sort of place with a timeless appeal where kids who visit grow up to bring their own families. A day at the seaside is always a good idea, especially when there are beautiful beaches like Newgale and Whitesands Bay just a five-minute drive from the cottage. These beaches are both a favourite with surfers and kiteboarders as well as with families, thanks to the clean water and consistently good surf. Those with a truly adventurous soul can arrange a morning or afternoon coasteering, leaping from cliffs and clambering around rocks to enjoy views only the daring can enjoy.
Walking the entirety of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath is a bucket-list adventure for some visitors to the area, but even a short walk along the 186-mile route affords stunning views that will stay with you long after you return to your day-to-day life. Although the coastal footpath is not suitable for bikes, there are some excellent coastal cycling routes nearby, or head inland where the Preseli Hills caters for both hikers and mountain bikers and offers far-reaching views from the peak.
Planning activities to suit everyone is no problem at Herne Cottage. Those who like golf and fishing will be easily amused, while St Davids, with its stunning cathedral and an excellent array of shops and restaurants, will appeal to visitors who love nothing more than a relaxing few hours of strolling, browsing and eating. Scolton Manor Estate has plenty to see and is a good rainy day activity, or why not take a picnic to Llys Y Fran Country Park if the weather is fine? Folly Farm is another fantastic all-weather activity with plenty to do both inside and out, and Oakwood Park's rides are a hit with visitors of all ages.
Time out with your family and friends is special, and the owners of Herne Cottage have worked hard to ensure your holiday cottage is comfortable and relaxing so that you can make every minute count.

Herne Cottage is a traditional cottage decorated in a fresh country style that the owners have made both child and pet-friendly. Extra touches like a welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and Welshcakes make the cottage very deserving of its 4-Star status.

Outside: There is a fenced, private courtyard garden with garden furniture, a kettle barbecue and a log store. There is a car park but guests are welcome to pull-up outside the cottage to off-load. Guests also have access to the shared facilities at Hendre House Cottages, which include an indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, barbecue hut, and children's playground.
Additional Information: All utilities, including WiFi, sheets and bath towels are included. Guests to provide beach/pool towels if they are needed. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement. Short breaks (minimum three nights) are possible outside of school holidays, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
