The Farmhouse is a wonderfully spacious group holiday rental in a fantastic location near Harty on the Isle of Sheppey. The gorgeous red brick house sleeps 21 people in eight well-appointed bedrooms, with guests enjoying plenty of space indoors and outside. Each of the five cottages on Mocketts Farm is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. When booked together, the estate sleeps up to 53 guests across 23 bedrooms, so the site is the perfect choice if you need cottages for larger groups for a family reunion, celebrating a special occasion like a wedding or a milestone birthday, or an annual catch up with your oldest friends and their families. It's all within walking distance of the 2AA Rosette restaurant, The Ferry House - a great pub for a meal which also has treatment rooms for the ultimate in relaxation - expertly run by the same people as Mocketts Farm.
There's something about having to cross the water to get to your holiday home that makes it feel like a proper escape from the norm. Maybe it's because it's surrounded by water, or possibly because so much of the island is taken up by nature reserves, but the pace of life on Sheppey is more carefree than on the mainland. That's not to say that they don't take things seriously over there because they do. It's more like the enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life is enhanced. You'll understand as you relax on Mocketts Farm's grounds or make your way around the island, walking from the house along the way-marked trails to Shellness Beach or cycling on the Isle of Harty Trail or the Sheerness Way Cycle Ride. Being only nine miles long and four miles wide makes it easy for visitors to get around and see everything even if you only stay for a weekend.
Days out from The Farmhouse can include swimming, sun and surf on the beaches at Leysdown-on-Sea, Sheerness and Minster. Walk from the house to nature reserves at The Swale and Elmley Marshes, where there is a wide variety of birds, plants and wildlife that are hard to find in other places around the UK. Within half an hour's drive are three golf clubs and local attractions like the Kent Showground, Callum Park Equestrian Centre, and the Eastchurch Aviation Museum. Maidstone is around half an hour's drive, while Bluewater Shopping Centre is not much further, and you can reach Canterbury in under an hour.
The Farmhouse is dog friendly and has a fully-fenced dog safe garden for your four-legged besties to enjoy. The dog exercise paddock has also recently opened and is available to book for all Mocketts Cottages guests.

The Farmhouse is a lovely period property with accommodation over two levels. It is the largest of the five holiday rentals on Mocketts Farm, with a private garden and views of the duck pond.
Outside: The Farmhouse has a fully fenced dog safe garden with a flat lawn and a patio with seating. There is allocated off-street parking. Guests also have shared use of Mockett's Farms grounds. There is also a dog exercise paddock available for all guests to use when pre-booked.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Guests to provide cot bedding, beach towels and dog towels if they are required. A cot, highchair and stairgate are available. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking indoors is not permitted.
