Fleet Lodge is in an idyllic location with fantastic rural views indoors and out. The contemporary barn conversion is incredibly comfortable, providing a superb standard of accommodation for six people in three bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. It is one of five gorgeous properties on Mocketts Farm in Harty. When booked together, the estate can accommodate upwards of 53 people, making it a sensational venue to host a family reunion, an extra special Christmas, or a memorable celebration with far-flung family and friends. Mocketts Farm owners also run the 2AA Rosette Ferry House restaurant a short walk from the cottage, serving produce so fresh and local that you'll see it growing in the kitchen garden. They also offer treatment rooms where you can soothe away any aches with a massage.
Harty is on the Isle of Sheppey, a blissful slice of heaven with two nature reserves, quiet beaches and open spaces to explore. Walk from the cottage to the 900-year-old St Thomas' Church or follow the circular Isle of Harty Trail, which loops Leysdown beach and past the RSPB "raptor point" where you can watch birds like Marsh Harriers. The trail is suitable for walking and cycling and is mainly flat and traffic-free, making it a favourite for visitors of all ages.
Fly a kite, go sailing from Chatham Maritime Marina or kayaking off the coast at Barton's Point. Local attractions include mini golf at Leysdown on Sea, Minster Abbey and the Gatehouse Museum, Eastchurch Aviation Museum, the Blue Town Heritage Centre. Look for birds and other wildlife at the nearby Swale and Elmley National Nature Reserves. Even sitting in Fleet Lodge's garden, you are likely to see owls, ducks, hares, and rabbits without having to move. You can drive to Canterbury in under an hour, opening up a wonderful array of attractions, restaurants, shops and its impressive cathedral; or visit Rochester which is closer and also has an impressive cathedral, eateries and shops to browse. The golden sandy beaches of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate are also within driving distance for a day trip out and you could even cross the channel for a day trip to France.
Fleet Lodge is also dog friendly along with all other cottages at Mocketts Farm. Fleet Lodge has a fully-fenced dog safe garden and we have recently opened our dog exercise paddock which is available for use of all Mocketts Cottages guests when pre booked.
Fleet Lodge and the other properties at Mocketts Farm are open for bookings all year round. It's hard to believe that this beautiful oasis of tranquility is only an hour from London. Leave your desk and, before you know it, you'll be relaxing in this incredible place with your favourite people.
Enjoy all this for less with variable rates including great value multi night stays, last minute trips & mid week breaks!
