Rose Tree Cottage sleeps up to six guests and is a pretty stone Grade II listed holiday cottage which affords a fabulous position in the very Heart of one of the Cotswolds' most desirable villages, Lower Slaughter. Overlooking the old mill, this detached cottage is just fifty yards from the River Eye and within walking distance of two hotels for a meal out - This truly is an idyllic Cotswold location and a perfect place for a relaxing holiday or to use as a base for exploring the area.
Lower Slaughter sits in the highly desirable 'Golden Triangle' of the Cotswolds, near to the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and the pretty village of Bourton-on-the-Water. The River Eye winds its way through the middle of the village with quaint little ancient stone bridges allowing people to cross from side to side. The Old Mill (with its historic water wheel that still works today) is worth a visit (if only for the amazing ice cream!) and has a small museum you can wander around, an interesting shop for gifts, and a tea room where you can sit beside the river.
The Slaughters Manor House is within strolling distance in the village, as is The Slaughters Country Inn where you can sit on the terrace beside the river in the summer months and enjoy eating alfresco. Alternatively, walk along the river to Upper Slaughter for a meal or afternoon tea at Lords Of The Manor.
Bourton-on-the-Water is only five minutes drive away (or a pleasant half hour walk) with a good selection of shops and eateries including a Co-op supermarket. A very pretty historic village which attracts people from far and wide, it offers plenty of attractions including: Birdland Park and Gardens, Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, The Model Village, Cotswold Perfumery, Fundays Play Barn, The Dragonfly Maze and Bourton Model Railway. The Cotswold Farm Park and Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens are also close by.
Also within the local area and easy driving distance is the ancient town of Chipping Campden, Broadway and Burford, along with the popular towns of Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham. The Roman City of Bath is also within driving distance for a day trip out and the area has an abundance of country houses, castles and gardens including Blenheim Palace (the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill), Painswick, Sudeley Castle, Hidcote Manor Gardens and Kiftsgate Court Garden.

Outside: There is an enclosed dry stone walled cottage garden at the front of Rose Tree Cottage with a small lawn edged with shrubs - a lovely place to sit and enjoy the views over the river with a G&T as the sun goes down.
Additional information: Well behaved dogs are accepted at an additional charge of £50 per pet, per week or short break stay. BT Broadband available and included in the price along with heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. Short breaks available - please enquire with the owner.
