About Daisy Chain

Daisy Chain promises a very high standard of accommodation and uninterrupted waterfront views, and it certainly delivers! The modern self-catering Cotswold holiday home sleeps nine people in five bedrooms with accommodation over three levels. It's in an enviable location next to Somerford Lagoon on Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswold Water Park, with miles of footpaths and cycling routes accessible from the door. The house is perfect for big families or multi-generational family holidays, boasting lots of little extra touches that make it feel like an authentic home-away-from-home.

Staying on the private Lower Mill Estate means that guests can use all of the amazing facilities that include an award-winning spa with two heated swimming pools, a gym, sauna and steam room, and a range of beauty treatments. There's a family-friendly restaurant that also offers a take-away service for those nights when you want to take it easy, and a shop well-stocked with the essentials if you run out. Kids love the soft play area, playground and nature trail, while the tennis court and 3G games court are great for some healthy competition with family and friends. The house comes with a Canadian canoe so you can get out and have fun on the water.

Outside of the estate, the picturesque Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) awaits. Walk or cycle through the countryside, spend a day shopping and sightseeing in Cirencester and Tetbury, or "ooh" and "ah" over the postcard-perfect setting of villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury. Cotswolds attractions for a day trip out include Chedworth Roman Villa, the Corinium Museum and Amphitheatre, Gloucester Cathedral, and Blenheim Palace. Adam Henson's Cotswolds Farm Park is a fun day out for the entire family, and Westonbirt Arboretum is utterly breathtaking in every season but especially so in autumn. Time your visit for an event like the Badminton Horse Trials, a tournament at the Cirencester Park Polo Club, or one of the area's annual festivals and fairs.

Accommodation Comprises:

The house is modern and spacious. Huge windows showcase the beautiful views of the lake and the upside-down layout makes them easier to enjoy. Accommodation is over three levels.

Ground Floor:

  • Double bedroom with a kingsize bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and proper storage. Glass doors open onto the sundeck and rear lawn. With such a picturesque scene waiting, you'll love waking up every morning. The ensuite has a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds with bedside tables and reading lights. The beds are full-sized and the decor is appropriate for adults or children.
  • Third downstairs bedroom with a single bed and a door that opens onto the sundeck.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.
  • Utility room with laundry facilities.

First Floor:

  • Open-plan living/dining room and kitchen with glass doors that slide open onto the deck. Toughened glass keeps the deck safe without blocking any of the views over Somerford Lagoon. The high ceiling and lots of glass ensures the room always feels light and welcoming and you can see the water from wherever you sit. There's a log burning stove and an initial supply of wood is provided.
  • Seating area with comfy sofas and a colourful rug. Settle back with a glass of wine, or use the Smart TV which has Freeview channels. The house has high-speed broadband, a music system and an iPod dock.
  • Dining area with a stylish oak table that comfortably seats up to 10 people. There are two high chairs and two booster seats available, and crockery and cutlery for 12.
  • Flowing on from the dining room, the kitchen is a contemporary delight with high-quality appliances, a five-burner hob, and lots of space to store and prepare food. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and you can order groceries to be delivered after you arrive. The estate's shop stocks forgotten essentials.
  • Bunk bed room with full size bunk beds.

Second Floor:

  • Master bedroom suite with a kingsize bed, vaulted ceiling, and views through an internal window over the living area to the lake. It has a Smart TV and an ensuite shower room.

Outside: Daisy Chain has two sun-decks overlooking the lagoon, garden furniture and a barbecue. There is allocated parking for one car outside the house with further parking a two-minute walk away.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to supply towels for use by the lake and swimming pool. Smoking is not permitted.
