South View is not just in a fantastic location, but its smart layout and indoor/outdoor living also let couples feel as if they are immersed in this beautiful landscape. The stylish annexe is on the ground floor of the owner's home on the outskirts of Stratton, offering couples a private retreat for a romantic holiday in Cornwall. Two friendly pubs, The Tree Inn and The Kings Arms, are within walking distance for a quiet drink or a tasty meal, while the world-class beaches of Bude are less than two miles from the front door.

Stratton is a welcoming small town with an impressive history and great amenities. As well as two pubs, South View is within walking distance of a local shop, two supermarkets, a leisure centre, and a bowling alley. Bude is within two miles, offering more choice of shops and places to eat, but it is the fantastic beaches that are the star here, showcasing the natural beauty of the North Cornwall coast and attracting visitors who love the clean waters, soft sand and endless opportunity for fun! There are surf schools where you can hire boards and arrange lessons, and because the climate here is milder than most parts of the UK, the summer season seems to last that much longer.

The lush Cornish countryside, which you can see from the kingsized bed at South View, is incredibly fertile. There are a wealth of excellent cafes and pubs serving mouthwatering meals made from local produce, and famous names like Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and Michael Caine all have restaurants in the area. Bude hosts a regular farmer's and craft market every Friday from March to September, so it is simple to buy fresh ingredients for a picnic or a home-cooked meal.

Speaking of picnics, there is no shortage of scenic beauty spots at which to stop and enjoy the view with a leisurely outdoor meal. Pack your lunch and set off on the South West Coast Footpath, wander along the towpath beside the Bude Canal or admire the prolific wildlife of Bude Marshes. Gain a different perspective of the coast from a guided boat tour and learn about the pirates who used the caves and inlets to smuggle in their ill-gotten booty, or work up an appetite cycling along hilly roads or rugged terrain.

There is a wide choice of fun activities to suit everyone in this area of North Cornwall, regardless of the weather or the season. There are three golf courses within a twenty-minute radius, the fishing village of Padstow beckons, and you can head inland to Bodmin or the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Closer to home, Tintagel has a magical appeal, or spend the day in Boscastle, Clovelly and Port Isaac, among countless other charming towns and villages - each of which has a fascinating history and a uniquely individual appeal. Whatever you want your dream holiday in Cornwall to include, at South View you can feel confident that your stay will be a comfortable one.

Accommodation Comprises:

South View is a self-contained ground floor apartment. Although it is part of the owner's home, and they will be on hand to help you settle in and answer any questions, the property is completely private and self-contained.

  • The apartment is light and spacious, with large windows that overlook the garden to the countryside beyond.
  • Living, dining and kitchen areas, all in one open-plan space, with the living area featuring two relaxing sofas where you can stretch out and watch the TV or make use of the internet to watch or read something on your smartphone or tablet.
  • The dining table can seat four guests, and the galley style kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a dishwasher.
  • The annexe has a washing machine, iron and ironing board for guests' convenience.
  • Glass French doors open onto the undercover terrace which has outdoor furniture so you can sit and admire the wonderful view with a meal or your favourite drink.
  • The bedroom has a comfortable king-sized bed, a tall wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside tables with reading lights. There is lots of space so you can unpack and feel settled straight away. The room's window also faces on to lovely views.
  • Tiled bathroom which is pleasantly large with a bath, separate walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and handbasin.

Outside: As well as the private terrace, guests have access to the shared garden which is mainly lawn and which enjoys uninterrupted countryside views. Guests have an allocated parking spot outside the apartment.

Additional Information: All utilities, including WiFi, linen and bath towels are included. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome with prior agreement from the owner. Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are possible all year round. Smoking is not permitted.
