Puffin Burrow is a beautifully situated one bedroom cottage for two, on the edge of the sea at tranquil Portmellon. Just a 10 minute walk from the lovely fishing village of Mevagissey, this old Fishermans cottage has been transformed into a holiday haven by an interior designer and an artist. 'Arty, cool and stylish' as one review expressed it, the cottage and its setting should transfix and relax you into holiday mode as soon as you arrive.
With uninterrupted sea views from both the bedroom and living room, you can be forgiven for thinking you are afloat once the tide is in. Watch the waves and the sunrises without rising from the super king bed or be lulled to sleep with the sound of the waves caressing the shore.
Guests may also take a well behaved dog to share the experience. With the beach right in front of the cottage and two south facing patios on which to relax, there is plenty to keep you close to Puffin Burrow, including a recently renovated 17th century smugglers Inn, just metres away. Seasonally there is also an outside cafe and a water sports hiring with tutoring facility.
Situated on the South West Coastal path there are splendid walks to take you off exploring in each direction. Should you wish to travel further around the area, the Lost Gardens of Heligan is just a five minute drive and the Eden Project is just 17 miles away. Explore the ancient harbour or Charles Town, or the lovely independent shops at Fowey. A ferry goes from Mevagissey to Fowey from the Spring to the Autumn.
Puffin Burrow is available by the week from a Saturday. You would be doing yourselves a grave injustice by ever considering going for fewer days.

The Cottage is situated just three metres from the sea edge on the far end of a row, affording more privacy than the other cottages. Access is via a gate by the first property down a flight of steps and along the sea path to the front door. After unloading, parking is along Portmellon park, about 60 meters. Using the car park is unnecessary.
The Cottage is well equipped with every thing you should need. Bedding and towels are provided. Games for indoor activity and patio furniture for outdoor relaxing. The lower sea edge patio is accessed via some steep steps (Steps shared with the cottage next door).
There is a DVD player and an Amazon Echo for music and radio. The Super King bed can be separated into two singles if preferred. A range style cooker compliments the kitchen along with a Voltswagen inspired retro fridge freezer. A retro style microwave and Smeg kettle and Toaster keep the upmarket period styling going.
Reclaimed wood is used throughout with white walls, wooden floorboards upstairs and slate tiles in the living room. All is your could need for for a wonderful get away on the edge of the sea.
