Phoenix Cottage is a charming detached stone house that sits within extensive secure grounds of some five acres. It is a pleasant short stroll from the heart of the Cornish village of Praze-an-Beeble and a great base for enjoying the many attractions of Cornwall. Surprisingly spacious for a property of this age, Phoenix Cottage has lots of lovely original features like two stone fireplaces in the living room, beams, and vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms giving a nice sense of space. Whether you are a couple or family, this welcoming dog-friendly retreat allows you to enjoy the very best of the Cornish countryside and coast.

The cottage is a comfortable and well-equipped, and is only a five minute walk from the St Aubyn Arms, a popular dog-friendly pub . The pub is across the road from a fish and chip shop . There is a village shop, Philips pasty bakery and supermarkets who deliver to the cottage so you can order your shopping online for delivery the day you arrive.

Praze-an-Beeble is centrally located, making it easy to get to great beaches like St Ives and Porthleven, which are both around a 15-minute drive from Phoenix Cottage. Also within easy reach are Praa Sands, Gwithian and Hayle, and with Penzance and Falmouth being half an hour away, you can explore the best of West Cornwall without spending hours in the car.

There is always something wonderful to do in Cornwall, whatever season you stay in Phoenix Cottage. The beaches and coastal footpath are as stunning on a sunny day as they are with a storm brewing over the ocean, and you will definitely want to make time to discover the magical delights of the Lizard Heritage Coast. St Ives is a great place to browse the galleries and museums, with a wealth of cosy cafes and friendly pubs where you can refuel, and it doesn’t matter what the weather does if you’re underground at the historic Geevor and Poldark Tin Mine! The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Trebah are breathtaking; and book tickets to a performance at the open-air Minnack Theatre at Porthcurno for an unforgettable holiday treat.

West Cornwall is dotted with pretty villages and towns like Mousehole,  St Agnes, and Godolphin. It doesn’t matter if you get your holiday thrills riding the crest of a wave or enjoying the taste of genuine Cornish clotted cream on your scone (jam first, then cream for a proper Cornish cream tea!) at Phoenix Cottage you will start and end every day with a smile.

This welcoming dog-friendly stone cottage has a traditional layout with the living area and kitchen on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the first floor.

Accommodation Comprises:

Downstairs:

  • It's a real pleasure to relax in the living room of an evening in front of the wood burner, set in an impressive stone inglenook fireplace. Linger over dessert at the scrubbed pine table, The lounge has a leather Chesterfield sofa and 2 armchairs.
  • The sunny kitchen is the perfect blend of country charm with modern touches to make self-catering a pleasure, with an electric range cooker that is very easy to cook on and dishwasher. Well-equipped, the fitted units and butler sink make the most of the space, and an additional table with chairs is a handy place to sit with a drink and keep the cook company.

Upstairs:

  • Master double bedroom with window seat overlooking the garden, bedside cabinets with lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe for clothes storage, television mounted on the wall and a beamed vaulted ceiling providing a lovely sense of space.
  • The twin bedroom offers flexibility and can made up as two singles, or be zipped together to become a king-size bed (5ft). This room also has a beamed vaulted ceiling, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
  • Shower room with generous size cubicle, wash basin and WC.

Outside: Phoenix Cottage has five acres of extensive grounds to enjoy with stock fenced garden and an enclosed stock fenced field where children and dogs can let off steam and play. There is a choice of outdoor seating to accommodate both alfresco meals and snoozing with a good book in the sunshine. A separate building houses the washer/dryer .The games room with a pool table and table football can also provide storage for bikes etc . A summer house holds further garden furniture .

Additional Information: There is WiFi and central heating throughout the property. Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome (dependant on the size of the breed) at no additional cost. All utilities, linen and towels are included in the price. Short breaks may be possible between November and March depending on availability. No smoking.no vaping ,no candles no naked flames.
