Mizzen is ideal for families and friends as it can sleep up to five people in three bedrooms, and is within walking distance of the beach and amenities which include two friendly pubs, The Old Albion and The Cornishman. The owners of Mizzen have taken great care to ensure it feels comfortable and welcoming, even to the point of enclosing the private garden so that it is safe for children and dogs.
The beach at Crantock is arguably one of the best in the north of Cornwall. Managed by the National Trust, its vast expanse of sand is protected by dunes with headlands at each end. The clean water is ideal for swimming and snorkelling, with surfers frequenting it when the break is right, and lifeguards on duty in spring and summer. Mizzen is close enough that you can walk there in just a few minutes, giving you the option of staying at the beach for hours or just popping out for a quick swim.
Not only does Crantock village have two pubs, but it also has a village shop and post office, cafe, and the church of St Carantoc's which dates back to the 6th Century. It is lovely and peaceful but, if you fancy a change of pace, the lively resort town of Newquay is close by with its beach, shops, excellent restaurants and other attractions. You won't be surprised that so many visitors to Crantock have been returning for years - even generations - when you see how peaceful and unspoiled this charming village and its beautiful beach is.
Staying at Mizzen also means you are close to favourite Cornish attractions that include The Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, the Sea Life Project and Dairyland. Spend the day walking along the South West Coast Path or admiring stately homes and gardens like those at Lanhydrock House or Trerice. Energetic visitors can swim, surf, kayak or paddle-board. There are golf courses, rivers to fish, and bridleways and trails along which to mountain bike.
Cornwall has long been one of Britain's most beloved holiday destinations, and the central location and comfortable accommodation at Mizzen allows you to enjoy it to the full.

Outside: Mizzen has a large enclosed rear garden with patio, seating and a lawned area with flowerbeds. There is also an enclosed front garden with a small patio/seating area which is a lovely sun trap in nice weather. There is off-street parking for one car and additional parking permits can be purchased for the community centre car park which is just over the road from the cottage.
Additional Information: All utilities, sheets and bath towels are included, with guests requested to bring beach towels if they are needed. A cot and high chair are available - please let the owners know when booking. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement and an extra fee. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
