Longsteps sleeps four guests in two/three bedrooms and is one of two Grade II listed adjoining holiday cottages that can accommodate parties of six if rented together. Ideal for families, friends or couples, Longsteps is a perfect seaside retreat with excellent access to pubs, restaurants, shops, beaches and fantastic coastal and countryside walks.
Voted in the top three by Country Life Magazine for being one of the country's best places to live, the popular harbour town of Fowey is a buzzing affair, nestling on the picturesque Fowey Estuary, amongst spectacular rolling countryside, with beautiful beaches all around including hidden coves to escape to escape the crowds. Renowned for its wonderful walks, sailing, amazing seascapes and bustling little streets lined with independent shops, Fowey's a true Cornish gem that has inspired many including Daphne Du Maurier who once lived there (the Du Marier literary festival is held in Fowey every year). The town comes alive in the summer with festivals including the Royal Sailing Regatta and the Fowey Regatta week in August with week long events including Sailing, a Carnival, live bands, Fireworks over the water and a spectacular display by the Red Arrows as a real highlight.
Not only popular with sailors, Fowey has wide appeal with some of Cornwall's most beautiful beaches, fantastic coastal walks and water based activities including kayaking, fishing, diving lessons and motor boat hire - the perfect way to explore the Fowey River which is a haven for wildlife. From Fowey you can take a ferry across the water to Polruan or to the 14th Century fishing village of Mevagissey. Fowey has two beaches for bathing - golden and sandy Readymoney Cove and Whitehouse Beach along the Esplanade, plus Polkerris Beach (fifteen minutes by car).
Fowey is within driving distance of the areas many attractions including: The Eden project (fifteen minutes drive); Padstow with fantastic restaurants including Rick Steins (forty minutes); National Trust's Lanhydrock House (seven miles away) and The Lost Gardens of Heligan (fifteen miles away). The area is also good for golf with Lostwithiel Golf and Country Club, Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Course and Carlyon Bay all popular choices.

Outside: The back door takes you out into a private patio/decking area with outdoor furniture providing a relaxed place for enjoying a glass of wine or alfresco dining with glimpses of the estuary in the background and the cry of the gull overhead.
Additional information: As expected from a traditional Cornish town, parking is restricted. You can unload outside the cottage and then park in one of the public car parks, the nearest being a few minutes' walk away.
