Gallants is a comfortable base for visiting Cornish gardens and beaches, for walking the coastal path or for just relaxing and watching the activity in the harbour (binoculars provided). You will spot a variety of sea birds, possibly a kingfisher (in winter), harbour seals, small boats, ferries, yachts, naval and cruise ships. For car-free days, we are just a few minutes’ walk from two quays where you can take a ferry to St Mawes, Flushing, Trelissick garden or Truro, or a boat trip up the Fal or Helford rivers. If you can drag yourself away from the ever-changing scene on the water in front of our double windows and balcony, we are well-placed for exploring the beautiful Lizard Peninsula, Roseland Peninsula, Penzance and West Penwith and Cornwall’s north coast from St Ives and Gwithian beach up to Watergate Bay or Padstow – all within an hour’s drive. We have owned and let Gallants for over 20 years and know Falmouth and Cornwall very well. We have lots of information to point guests to the most scenic places, the best restaurants, even where to visit on rainy days!
The spacious living/dining room and kitchen are open plan, with double doors to a balcony overlooking the harbour. The kitchen has integrated appliances – eye-level oven, separate hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer – plus a microwave. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with a superking that converts to twin singles on request. The bathroom has a full-size bath, very roomy walk-in shower and a heated towel rail. A utility/cloakroom has a second WC, a washing machine, and folding chairs for use on the balcony. All rooms have heating, which in cooler weather we can switch on ahead of your arrival to ensure the flat is warm and cosy. Gallants is all on one level but is not wheelchair accessible as there is a sloping path with several steps to the front door.
