4 Bideford Mews is a character holiday cottage in Cornwall, close to Bude and within a short stroll of Stratton's meandering River Neet and the King’s Arms and Tree Inn pubs. Guests love that the house is close to the beach and amenities yet idyllically peaceful, set back from the street behind a metal gateway. It sleeps three to four people in two bedrooms with a sofa bed in the living room to increase accommodation up to six, ideal for couples, families or friends. The self-catering property is child-friendly, dog-friendly and welcomes guests in all seasons, whether you're after a winter escape or a summer seaside holiday.
Stratton is a pretty village with lots of character. Follow the self-guided Stratton Town Trail to see some of its older buildings, like Grade I Listed St Andrew's Church which is still a focal point of the community 750 years after its medieval construction. Other local paths lead down to the river, also known as The Strat, giving the village its original name of Stratneat. The Strat and the River Neet start life as two entities in North Cornwall, meeting at Marhamchurch, where they continue to the coast at Summerleaze. Another popular walk is to Stamford Hill, the site of a fierce battle on 16th May 1643 and now a picturesque destination with panoramic views. You're also only a mile from the South West Coast Path, with miles more stunning sights.
Bude's golden beaches are just over a mile from the cottage, taking around half an hour to walk or ten minutes to cycle if you'd rather not drive or take the bus. There's so much to do on a day at the seaside. Bring or hire a surfboard or bodyboard and take to the waves, go swimming in the sea pool, hire a boat or pedalo, explore Bude's historic canal, go shopping, have lunch, or sit with a tub of ice cream and people watch. Keep an eye on the local calendar to see what's on during your stay. Events in Bude include music festivals, food festivals, and farmers' markets. Bude canal path is great for walking or gentle cycling. Kayaks, canoes and SUPs are allowed on the water with a relevant day permit.
4 Bideford Mews is a comfortable self-catering cottage with no passing traffic, easy access to the coast and countryside, and close to excellent amenities. Holiday bookings are available all year round.
