Wraycroft Cottages are three beautiful holiday homes in the charming Yorkshire Dales village of Reeth, within walking distance of the village shop, cafe, and the welcoming Black Bull pub. The cottages are on two private acres of land bordered by the River Swale. The gardens feature terraces, ponds, and areas cultivated to attract birds, butterflies, deer, rabbits, and other wildlife. Each cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is perfect for couples, friends, or families with older (over ten years) children. It's a wonderfully idyllic spot where you can relax and enjoy being surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The owners have lived in Reeth for generations and have been letting holiday cottages since 1965. Living on the site they are around if needed and have very many regular visitors. Wander around the village green before stopping at the Swaledale Museum to work up an appetite for a pot of tea and a generous slice of homemade cake at one of Reeth's tea rooms. If you're there on Friday, there is a small farmers market on the green and a fish-and-chip van that visits in the evening. More amenities are a short drive away in the historic market town of Richmond, where the pretty town grew up around the Norman castle and a twice-weekly outdoor market in the Georgian market square.
Reeth is part of Swaledale, a place famous for its breathtaking scenery and abundance of footpaths and cycling routes. Don't be surprised to see old mines like Cogden Beck in Grinton, where lead was mined in the 1700s and 1800s. Barnard Castle and Leyburn are around 11 miles from Wraycroft Cottages, and bike hire is available locally if you want to explore further without using your car.
All three of the Wraycroft Cottages are virtually identical, comfortably furnished with open fires and have stunning views. The owners are very proud to always achieve a 4 star rating and 100% for cleanliness when annually assessed by Visit England. Holiday bookings are available all year round.
