Badgers Cottage offers attractive holiday accommodation and sits within Ribblesdale itself along with Giggleswick, Settle and Horten-in-Ribblesdale at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. This pretty modern stone holiday cottage sits alongside the Ribble beck and has a lovely private enclosed garden which is ideal for relaxing in on a sunny day. It is also perfect for those early/late season breaks, where you can sit in front of a cosy real flame fire (gas coal effect) after your daily activities. A public footpath out onto the Dales commences directly opposite the property at just 35 metres from the front door.
Hellifield village is situated in the Yorkshire Dales and ideally placed for walking, biking, trekking and exploring this treasure of English countryside. The village has two pubs, a general store (papers, snacks & sandwiches), a post office, up-market clothing store, butchers and unisex hairdressers and a even a chippy. As well as the the Dales Hellifield is also only a few miles to where you can equally take an easy level stroll along winding country canal towpaths passing narrowboats, locks, pretty villages with very tempting pubs and chatting to the ever friendly people equally enjoying the relaxed pace of life every holiday deserves.
This is an ideal well connected base to get around for all activities, there's even dedicated colour graded (for ease/difficulty) mountain bike trails locally within Gisburn Forest. For those who like a scenic round of golf there are several clubs in the area. Pony trekking is available (the Craven Country Ride is a lovely bridleway) and you can also ride out from the Skipton Trekking centre. Waterfalls walk at Ingleton & magical Janet Foss by Malham.
Badgers Cottage is close to the historic Dales town of Skipton which boasts a well preserved medieval private castle (open to visitors) and famous main street market four days a week plus many restaurants and canal side Gastro Pubs. The bustling little market town of Settle is nearby with its little shops & famous picturesque railway station. The cottage is only five miles from the walks and waterfalls of Malham Dale, and Hellifield station (10 mins walking distance) provides access to ride the famous Settle to Carlisle route - England’s most scenic railway with seasonal steam trains.
The Leeds Liverpool canal system winds it way through the area adding interest for those seeking boating, fishing and aquatic tranquility. Further afield and a forty five minutes lovely scenic drive, you are well in Windermere and the heart of the Lake District.
Time travel within the Dales is possible, you can quickly step back in time to a sleepy England of unspoilt tranquility, rolling Dale, bird song, wildlife and babbling streams then returning each evening to all the comforts of the 21st Century within Badgers Cottage.
