Living
The Old Coach House offers a cosy retreat for two people. It has been furnished to a high standard including a large double bedroom upstairs with stunning views across the village. The bedroom comprises a comfortable king size bed, colour TV, hairdryer, radio/alarm clock, dual electric blanket (for any chilly nights) and an electric fan for those unusual hot nights! Downstairs there is an open plan living/dining area with comfortable sofas, Smart TV, dining table and chairs and an electric log-effect fire for extra background heating, plus full central heating is available throughout the property.,
The modern well-equipped kitchen includes a double oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. We do try to make it 'home from home'.
The bathroom benefits from a modern walk-in shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.
All bed linen, towels and cleaning materials are provided, plus on arrival you will find fresh milk, tea, coffee and a complementary bottle of good wine to help you unwind after your journey.
Outside there is secure off road parking for three cars and a summerhouse with a delightful private patio and garden furniture. There is also a secure shed available to store bicycles.

The cottage is ideally situated for exploring this area of North Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Wolds. Walks start from the door along designated footpaths with Wolds Way, Centenary Way and Tabular Way near by. Dalby forest on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moor National Park offers amazing Cycle Trails to suit all abilities as well as walks throughout the forest area. We are also located a few miles from where world renowned artist David Hockney produced his vivid pictures of the Yorkshire landscape for his 'A bigger Picture Exhibition'.
The North Yorkshire Railway is a heritage railway that runs through the North Yorkshire National Park from Pickering Station through to Whitby stopping at different stations along the route including Goathland and Grosmont. Please look at their website to plan your journey ahead or to book a special event such as an unforgettable dining experience in one of the Heritage Pullman carriages during your stay.
The World of James Herriot is also situated in Thirsk which is only a 40 minute drive from the village. For those visitors interested in wine, why not visit Britain's most northerly commercial vineyard situated 2 miles form the cottage, where award winning wines can be purchased.
Over the past 12 years Malton has grown into a thriving market town in the area, now famous for its many local food producers and independent retailers. Please look at the Visit Malton website for up to date information on the monthly food markets, culinary activities and cultural events.
