Musselwick Bungalow sits in one of those rare coastal positions where the sea feels woven into daily life rather than simply part of the view. Set directly above a sheltered bay within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this substantial Victorian bungalow enjoys uninterrupted sea views from every room, with the coast path running alongside the garden and private access down to the foreshore below. The setting is peaceful, spacious and quietly dramatic, with the light shifting constantly across the water. At low tide, the shoreline can be followed on foot to the sailing village of Dale in around twenty minutes, placing the Griffin Inn and Boathouse Café within easy walking distance. Musselwick Bungalow consists of two parts, the main bungalow and an attached annex , known as Joan’s Cottage. The full house sleeps up to 14 but for parties less than 8, guests can book the main part only. In this event the annex (Joan’s Cottage) will not be let to another party.
Inside, the bungalow has the reassuring feel of a house that has evolved naturally around its location. The accommodation is largely arranged on one level, making it particularly well-suited to mixed-age groups, and every bedroom enjoys a sea view. Open fires, oil central heating and generous room sizes give the house a year-round appeal, whether you're arriving with walking boots, sailing kit or simply the intention to slow down. Days often revolve around the lawn and shoreline below, watching dinghies tacking across the bay, windsurfers taking advantage of favourable conditions, or seabirds feeding along the water's edge. Small boats can be launched directly from the foreshore, and there's a sense here that time expands rather than contracts.
Beyond Musselwick itself, this part of Pembrokeshire offers a remarkable variety of experiences within easy driving distance. The coast path delivers outstanding walking in both directions, while nearby beaches such as Westdale Bay, Watwick Bay and Marloes Sands offer wide sands, rock pools and sweeping views towards the Atlantic. Boat trips from Martin's Haven run out to Skomer Island, famous for its seabirds and seals, while inland walks around the Preseli Hills provide a completely different landscape. St David's, Britain's smallest city, is less than an hour away, offering a striking cathedral, galleries and coastal walks. For those drawn to the water, Dale remains a centre for sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and diving, with equipment hire and tuition available. This holiday rental in Pembrokeshire suits guests who return year after year, drawn by space, scenery and a sense of timeless continuity.
