Stable Cottage is a dream retreat for couples or solo travellers who want to stay somewhere rural without being isolated. You couldn't ask for a better location for your self-catering cottage on the Northumberland coast. Not only does the pretty stone cottage have everything you could want for a relaxing holiday, but it is across the road from an enormous beach and within walking distance of many excellent pubs and restaurants in Beadnell and Seahouses.
The cottage is on Annstead Farm, a mixed family run farm. It's conveniently situated between Seahouses and Beadnell in the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and just over the road from the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve and miles of beautiful beachs. If you typically head for the beaches of Norfolk or Cornwall for your seaside holidays, then you will be amazed at how empty and beautiful Northumberland's coastline is. Even in the height of summer, the beaches are delightfully uncrowded, giving you plenty of space to relax in peace. Both Seahouses and Beadnell are good for swimming, while the shape of Beadnell Bay creates conditions ideal for sailing, surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding.
Seahouses is only half a mile north of the cottage, with excellent amenities and places to eat, drink and shop. Seahouses is also the place to go to book a sightseeing tour of the Farne Islands, a beautiful nature reserve managed by the National Trust that is a haven for puffins, seals and a wealth of other birds and wildlife. Seafood lovers should make a beeline for Swallow Fish, where they have been smoking haddock, salmon and kippers since 1843, and where they sell the freshest catch of the day from local waters.
Walking and cycling are always popular ways to explore, but the Northumberland coast is also a favourite with horse riders as the beaches are so wide, flat and long, and the countryside so appealing. Spent a day sightseeing in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, or strolling around the magnificent house and grounds at Alnwick Castle. Drive across the causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, or spend a relaxing few hours admiring Bamburgh and its castle.
Stable Cottage is one of a collection of self-catering properties at Annstead Farm. Each is private and self-contained and can be booked together with other properties on site to accommodate extended families or groups of friends.
