The Old Chapel is a cosy rural bolthole located in the heart of the unspoilt moorland village of Levisham. Sleeping three people in two bedrooms, this charming self-catering cottage is ideal for a couple or small families of three. It features a ground floor bedroom, large garden and peaceful surroundings. The well appointed kitchen has everything you need to enjoy cooking your favourite suppers or enjoy a night out at the excellent village pub which serves hearty food and real ales just a two minute walk away. The charming village of Thornton-le Dale is only a few miles away, with two pubs, an ice cream parlour and a variety of eateries.
Guests staying at The Old Chapel will love the peace and tranquility of Levisham, a small village sitting on the North York Moors. Levisham Moor, an area rich in archeological remains, can be accessed on foot from the Old Chapel. Make sure you view the spectacular Hole of Horcum and the magical ruins of Skelton Tower. For those who prefer to travel on two wheels, the area is also superb for biking, or sit back and enjoy the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside from the comfort of a steam train. You can even enjoy an afternoon tea or three course dinner as you admire the stunning scenery.
The Old Chapel has an overwhelming choice of activities within a short drive. Outdoors enthusiasts can explore Dalby Forest which offers a wide variety of walks and bike rides for all abilities as well as Go Ape high ropes adventure and a great playground. Mountain bikers can enjoy miles of first-class trails whilst equestrians will find stables at nearby Snainton and Sinnington. History buffs will be spoilt for choice. The medieval castle and church at Pickering is just a 20 minute drive away and there are several other English Heritage sites within an hours drive. Foodies can visit Yorkshire's Food Capital, Malton, where you can pick up some holiday treats from the many independent food shops as well as visit the brewery and gin distillery.
Scarborough and Whitby are both within 30 minutes drive of Levisham should you fancy escaping to the coast, while historic York and Castle Howard can easily be reached within the hour.
The Old Chapel is available for holidays all year round, with short breaks available outside of peak season.
