Barnet Lodge sleeps up to three guests (two adults and one child under ten years of age) and is a perfect retreat from which to experience the very best that the North Yorkshire Moors has to offer. Nestling within the heart of the pretty Yorkshire village of Goathland (famed by the television series 'Heartbeat' and known as Aidensfield in the series), sitting within the grounds of the owners larger cottage, this delightful holiday home is perfect for couples, small families or friends who want to visit North Yorkshire and its many attractions.
Goathland is a pretty traditional village set amongst open moors, with its common where sheep freely graze, pub and village store. The lodge affords fantastic views across open rolling countryside, taking in the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Line and Goathland station (famed by the Harry Potter films for being the location for Hogsmeade railway station) which is only two minutes away by foot - for families and steam train enthusiasts, the sights from the Lodge are wonderful! Why not take a train from Goathland and explore the countryside and line which travels between Whitby and Pickering.
The surrounding National Park offers wonderful opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts with great walking and cycling and there are plenty of attractions within easy reach of Goathland. The heritage coast and popular maritime town of Whitby with its Blue Flag sandy beach and quaint cobbled streets are nearby. Dalby Forest (home to Go Ape and Purple Mountain which is great for mountain bikers), Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay are also within easy reach and a little further afield you have Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, Pickering and the City of York.
Guests staying at Barnet Lodge can enjoy all the comforts of a home and relax in this beautiful setting. With a wood burning stove and a large enclosed garden, outdoor furniture and panoramic views - this is an ideal retreat all year round.
