Swan Cottage is in a picturesque location on a private estate close to Fordingbridge in the New Forest National Park. The pretty holiday home sleeps four people in two bedrooms, with the option of sleeping two more on a double sofa bed. On its own, Swan Cottage is ideal for couples, families or friends, but it can also be booked together with one or more of the other six holiday cottages on Burgate Manor Farm to accommodate groups of up to 54 people.
Fordingbridge is a mile away, and the pretty market town is easy to reach on foot or by bike if you prefer to leave the car behind. The town is best known for its much-photographed medieval arched bridge that spans the River Avon, and its church, St Mary's, that was listed in the Domesday Book. Fordingbridge has a seasonal museum of local history as well as a park and play area, and a choice of shops, cafes and pubs giving you the option of eating out if you do not feel like cooking every meal.
The New Forest National Park attracts visitors from around the world for its beautiful woodlands, pretty towns and villages with photogenic thatched cottages, and plentiful opportunities to be active outdoors. As well as walking - and there are some fantastic footpaths around the area, including the long-distance Avon Valley Path - cycling and horseriding will enable you to slow your pace and appreciate the scenery in a way that is not always possible in a car. You do not need to bring your own bike (or horse!) on holiday as several local businesses provide bike hire and pony trekking.
Favourite New Forest attractions close to Swan Cottage include the New Forest Water Park and Go Ape, for the adventurous sorts; Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park for younger guests and the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge are within easy reach, as are the beaches at Bournemouth, Mudeford and Studland.
Burgate Manor Farm offers 230 acres of beautiful countryside, so guests at Swan Cottage do not even have to leave the estate to have an incredible day of fun. The River Avon runs through the estate and the owners can help to arrange a fishing permit if you fancy your chance at landing a carp or pike; and bird watchers will be in heaven counting the different species of birds who make the estate their home, including herons and kingfishers. The New Forest is beautiful in every season and the comfortable accommodation at Swan Cottage will help you to relax and enjoy every minute of your stay.

Accommodation at Swan Cottage is all on one level, making it suitable for people with mobility issues.
Outside: The enclosed patio and garden are accessible directly from the living room thanks to glass French doors. There is garden furniture with a parasol and a barbecue for eating outdoors on sunny days and long summer nights. An 80ft barn houses a games room that is available to all guests of Burgate Manor Farm. The barn is a fantastic space for kids, particularly when the weather is damp, as it includes table football, table tennis, pool and soft tennis. Burgate Manor Farm has cows, pigs and wild deer. Footpaths run through fields and beside the river that guests are welcome to enjoy. There is a shared meadow garden on the banks of the river that is ideal for picnics and games. Ample off-street parking is available.
Additional Information: All utilities and linen are included, and the cottage has WiFi and central heating. Guests are requested to bring bath towels, and beach towels if required. A cot and highchair are available on request. Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner - due to the nature and animals on the farm, please discuss this before booking. Smoking is not permitted.
