Granary Barn is the largest of all seven self-catering properties at Burgate Manor Farm which, when hired together, can sleep up to 54 people. The barn has been restored and converted to a high standard to provide accommodation for up to 18 guests and is perfect for everything from annual get-togethers with your uni friends and their families to Christmas with your entire family. The Granary Barn is ideal for guests with mobility issues, the ground floor has 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, one is a wheel in/walk in wet room with sit down shower etc. It is only one mile from Fordingbridge so you can walk to friendly pubs like The George.
Fordingbridge's location next to the Hampshire Avon River has attracted settlers for millennia. The town was included in the Domesday Book, and it boasts a Norman church and a medieval stone arched bridge. There is a choice of shops, cafes and pubs, as well as a museum that opens between April and the end of October. Bike hire and horse riding can be arranged locally to help make your holiday in the New Forest even more enjoyable.
The New Forest National Park is beautiful. The ancient landscape is expertly managed to protect not only the trees but also the centuries-old buildings. Thatched cottages and elegant Georgian shopfronts are typical, and because there are free-roaming ponies and donkeys, people naturally move at a slower pace than they would normally. There are over one hundred miles of traffic-free cycling routes in the national park as well as countless footpaths so you can enjoy a different view every day, cycling past the foot of towering trees one day, and walking along the beach overlooking the Solent the next.
Granary Barn sits within almost 250 acres of prime New Forest Farmland, where the owners farm sheep, cows and pigs. The Avon flows through the property and it is possible for guests to arrange a permit to fish on the farm's private stretch of river. The water meadows are a haven for birds and insects, and you may even see some of the wild deer population that thrives in the New Forest. Guests can meander along footpaths that flow beside the river and around the fields, or set up for a relaxed family picnic in the extensive grounds. The New Forest looks beautiful in any season and Burgate Manor Farm is a fantastic place from which to enjoy it with your friends and family.

Most of the accommodation at Granary Barn is on the ground floor. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms on the ground floor, one set up for the wheelchair users with a wheel in/walk in wet room. There are three more bedrooms and three more bathrooms on the first floor plus two more twin bedded rooms on the gallery, giving you eight bedrooms in all.
Outside: The extensive garden faces the River Avon with beautiful views of the meadows and countryside. The garden is fenced, and has outdoor furniture for 50 people so you can celebrate with an outdoor barbecue and enjoy the summer sunshine late into the evening. In addition to the paths around the farm and beside the river, guests have access to a shared games barn. This enormous indoor space has two pool tables, table tennis, table football, indoor tennis and a playhouse, and is perfect for keeping the kids entertained. There is off-street parking for 15 cars outside the barn.
Additional Information: Sheets, bath towels and bath mats, tea towels, utilities, logs for the wood burner and WiFi are all included with the hire of Granary Barn. Well behaved dogs are welcome with agreement from the owner, but as Burgate Manor Farm is a working farm, please contact the owner to discuss the number and type of dog before booking. Smoking is not permitted inside Granary Barn.
