Well Cottage is perfect for couples but can also accommodate four guests with the use of a sofa bed in the sitting room. Part of Manston Court, a Grade II listed historic old property with unique charm, this welcoming holiday home sits at the very heart of the Isle of Thanet on the outskirts of the village of Manston and is a super base for exploring the Kent coastline.
Just four miles from the golden sands of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate, there are plenty of beautiful beaches to lay your towel and enjoy a lazy day relaxing, building sand castles or just enjoying fish and chips wiggling your toes in the sand to the cry of the gulls.
Much loves for its pretty little villages and coastal towns (as well as its Blue Flag beaches!), this popular part of Kent has plenty of attractions for day trips out. Visit the historic castles at Dover, Deal and Walmer; the nature reserves at Sandwich and Ramsgate; Howletts Zoo (near Canterbury) and the new Turner Gallery for some culture at Margate or Dreamland for some thrills and traditional British seaside fun.
There are plenty of good golf courses in the area for those who enjoy a round including Manston and Broadstairs, as well as the prestigious Royal St Georges Golf Course in Sandwich (20-minute drive) which regularly hosts the Open Championships. The area also has much to offer walkers with its coastal footpaths; cyclists with the Viking Trail easily accessible; and lovers of historic properties with Kent having more than its fair share of historic houses, castles and gardens.
Canterbury's historic city is within easy driving distance offering great shops to browse, a magnificent cathedral and lots of places to enjoy a meal out. The coastal towns of Folkestone and Dover are less than forty five minute's away and from here you can take a ferry (or high speed train) to France for a day trip. For those wanting to stay closer to home, Westwood Cross Shopping Centre offers a large choice of shops, restaurants and a multi screen cinema and is just two miles away.
Whether you just want some sea air, fancy lacing up your walking boots and notching up a few coastal miles, or want to discover the many attractions of Kent, Well Cottage is a great base and a welcoming retreat to return home to at the end of the day.
