Gulliver the Quirky Camper certainly lives up to his name. This charming self-catering rental is no mere campervan but a unique place where couples or intrepid solo travellers can enjoy the back-to-nature pleasures of camping with lots of extra comfort on top. The camper sits in the quiet Kent village of Blean, next to a woodland and nature reserve and within walking distance of the village shop for forgotten provisions and the Royal Oak pub.
You'll fall in love with Blean. Blean Woods has over 100 miles of footpaths and cycling routes, as well as ancient trees and an RSPB reserve. Blean is also home to the Druidstone Wildlife Park and within easy reach of some of Kent's favourite sights like Chatham's historic dockyard, the famous White Cliffs of Dover, and magnificent Canterbury cathedral. You can spend your days touring castles, admiring gardens, playing golf, sailing, shopping and making the most of Kent's diverse and wonderful attractions.
Whitstable is less than four miles away, beckoning visitors with its vibrant harbour, delicious seafood and beaches. Slightly further away but still only around half an hour's drive, are Herne Bay, Margate, Deal, Ramsgate and Sandwich Bay. If a day at the seaside doesn't appeal then pop over to Canterbury, just 10-minutes from Blean, and spend a happy few hours sightseeing, shopping and eating in this wonderfully historic city. Canterbury boasts not only a fantastic cathedral but also museums, gardens, theatres and lots of places to eat and drink.
Kent has a calendar full of festivals and events celebrating not only food and music but also literature and the arts. A favourite event is the annual Rochester Dickens Festival which takes place over a weekend in early June. You could even if you make an early start, drive half-an-hour from Gulliver and take the Eurostar to Paris for the day. Magnifique!
However you decide to fill your days, your stay in Gulliver, the Quirky Camper will be one that you won't forget. It's quirky, fun and romantic, with everything couples need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. Close to Canterbury, which is just 40-minutes from London St Pancras, you can leave your desk at the end of the day and be soothing your stresses away in the hot tub before the sun goes down!
