Stone Cottage is a peaceful retreat for couples in a quiet location in between the Wye Valley and Malvern Hills, both of which are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a pretty garden and is close to lovely footpaths and cycling routes to explore the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.
Active visitors can walk, cycle, play golf, go horseriding, and even go kayaking. Those with a taste for more sedate activities can browse farmers' markets, peruse antique shops and admire the wealth of incredible Grade I and Grade II listed properties, including wonderful examples of black and white timber buildings.
Ledbury is only a few miles from Stone Cottage. The historic market town has a good variety of cafes and shops, including a twice-weekly market held in the beautiful Market House every Tuesday and Saturday. Hereford is also close by and a visit to its beautiful Cathedral, which houses the precious Mappa Mundi, will be a highlight of your trip. Gloucester and Hay-on-Wye are also within easy reach for a day of shopping, eating and sightseeing.
Local attractions include Westons Cider, the Severn Valley Railway, West Midlands Safari Park, and Newbridge Farm Park, or you could book a spa day at Holmer Park. Offa's Dyke marks the border between England and Wales and, being border country, there is no shortage of castles and fortified houses to see.
If you are a couple who loves combining the best of town and country then a stay at Stone Cottage is ideal. The location lets you pick and choose what you want to do based on your mood and the weather, giving you the ability to plan a holiday that is perfectly suited to your taste regardless of the season.
