Knockinaam House is the perfect family holiday home in a fantastic location. The four bedroom property comfortably sleeps up to eight people and is close to some of the best beaches on the south-west coast of Scotland. The house is at the end of a private driveway and surrounded by a garden that extends into woodland, yet is only a ten-minute drive from the welcoming coastal community of Portpatrick.
Portpatrick is a picturesque scene of protective cliffs hugging a sparkling bay and winding streets lined with traditional houses in gentle colours. It is a popular holiday destination at any time of the year, particularly with golfers, walkers and anglers who enjoy making the most of the wealth of opportunities this area offers. In addition to a post office and village store, Portpatrick has a bakery and several takeaways, as well as a very good fish and chip van in the harbour. Stranraer is six miles or about a 15-minute drive from the house and has an excellent array of shops and amenities, including supermarkets.
Favourite local attractions include Sandhead Beach and the beautiful Logan Botanic Gardens. The Mull of Galloway is close enough for a relaxing day out, or why not book a scenic boat trip for some extra-special sightseeing. The long-distance Southern Upland Way footpath starts at nearby Dunskey Castle, traversing the width of the country to the east coast; while the world-class trails at the nearby 7 Staines centre will appeal to mountain bikers of all abilities, and golfers can enjoy the lovely views from the Portpatrick Golf Course. Stranraer has a long and interesting history and is an excellent place to spend a few lazy hours browsing the shops and galleries, and visiting both the Stranraer Museum and Castle of St. John.
The south-west coast of Scotland benefits from a dry, mild climate so, if your expectation of Scottish weather is grey and dreary then you are in for a lovely surprise! With lots of space inside and out and a recently refurbished interior that is ideal for families and friends, Knockinaam House is a fantastic self-catering cottage for every season.

Outside: Knockinaam House has three acres of grounds where children can run and play to their heart's content. The patio has a paved area with garden furniture, and there is ample off-street parking.
Additional Information: All utilities, including a welcome basket of logs for the fire, are included, as are sheets, towels and WiFi. A cot and highchair are available on request. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Under occupancy discount may be offered for couples - please enquire. Please note the festive season is charged at £1100.
