About No.7 Sandhead

No. 7 Sandhead puts you close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the south-west of Scotland. With space for four people in two bedrooms, the cottage is within walking distance of Sandhead's beach and village shop, as well as the renowned Tigh Na Mara Hotel which has a bar, beer garden and a more formal restaurant. No 7. Sandhead is ideal for couples, friends or families, offering very comfortable accommodation in a fantastic location.

Those who have never visited the south-west coast of Scotland before are often surprised at the mildness of the climate. The Gulf Stream's warming air makes it feel almost tropical at times - a feature that is particularly noticeable at places like Ardwell Gardens and the Logan Botanic Gardens, both of which are just a few miles from the cottage. A walk along the beach is a treat at any time of the year, and because No. 7 Sandhead is pet-friendly, you can bring your favourite four-legged friends along for a holiday in the knowledge that they will feel very much at home. Another popular walking route is the Mull of Galloway Trail which goes through Sandhead on its way between Mull and nearby Stranraer, but there are enough miles of footpaths and routes to cycle in and around the area to satisfy even the most energetic of visitors, offering spectacular coastal or countryside views.

Golf, fishing, kiteboarding and land surfing are all available either in Sandhead or nearby. It is possible to arrange deep-sea fishing trips and boat tours in the seaside village of Portpatrick, a 15-minute drive away, or in Stranraer, which is even closer. Stranraer is an excellent place to shop for provisions for your self-catering holiday as it has supermarkets and a range of independent shops, cafes and boutiques. Spend a day in Stranraer browsing the shops and visiting places like the creepy Castle of St. John, Agnew Park and Castle Kennedy Gardens.

The sea air and relaxing atmosphere at Sandhead will immediately put you at ease, giving you the holiday you deserve whether you stay for a long weekend, a week or even longer.

Accommodation Comprises:

No. 7 Sandhead is a traditional cottage that has been updated and modernised to offer very comfortable accommodation.

Downstairs:

  • Welcoming sitting room with two large sofas and an electric feature fire. The TV has Freeview channels, and the cottage also has WiFi.
  • Lovely kitchen/diner with a table and chairs for four people at one end, and a well-equipped fitted kitchen at the other. Laminate floors and a stylish colour theme make it a pleasure in which to cook, and the windows overlook the garden.
  • Tiled family bathroom with a shower-over-bath, WC and handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a double bed, bedside tables and reading lights. Thick carpet and a radiator ensure it is a cosy space even in cold weather.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds, nightstand and reading light. A neutral colour scheme makes it appropriate for guests of any age.
  • Cloakroom with WC and handbasin.

Outside: The cottage is on a quiet residential street with off-street parking. There is a small gravelled space out the front and a larger fully enclosed garden at the rear.  There is also a garden room in rear garden.

Additional Information: No 7. Sandhead is available for short breaks (minimum three nights) outside of the high season. All utilities, sheets, towels (not beach towels) and WiFi are included. Well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner. Smoking is not permitted.
