About The Manor Vineyard

The Manor Vineyard on the Cotswold Manor Estate is the perfect place for getting together with friends, family or celebrating a special occasion (hen and stag parties welcome). In an area known for its well-heeled locals (Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Zara Phillips all live in the Cotswolds), The Manor Vineyard stands out for the quality and flexibility of its accommodation and the beauty of the surroundings nestling amongst half an acre of private lawned garden with hot tub. Sleeping up to ten guests, the house offers plenty of space inside and out for relaxing and is tucked away on 70 acres of private estate just a mile away from the Lord Kitchener gastropub. Whatever the time of year, The Manor Vineyard assures a warm welcome.

The eastern Cotswolds is a blend of lush green rolling countryside punctuated with towns and villages that are quintessentially English with their stone buildings and market squares. The Manor Vineyard is close to Bampton, which plays the role of Downton village in the famous television show, Downton Abbey, and fans may recognise St Mary’s Church and Church View. Bampton is a charming place with a friendly community that offers a range of amenities including an excellent butcher selling locally raised meat, a small supermarket and an antique centre.

Nearby Cotswold attractions include Aston Pottery, Kelmscott Manor and Buscot Park, which is managed by the National Trust. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens promises a fun day out for all ages, and if you like animals, then you can also visit Cogges Manor Farm and the UK’s only crocodile zoo, Crocodiles of the World. The magnificence of Blenheim Palace’s interiors and gardens will take your breath away, and you should also make a small detour to the charming town of Woodstock to pay your respects at the grave of Winston Churchill, who was born at Blenheim.

The historic city of Oxford is less than 20 miles from The Manor Vineyard, providing you with a wealth of entertainment. In addition to the usual shopping, bars and restaurants you would expect, there are fantastic sights and museums to explore including the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology. Slightly further afield but still an easy drive are beautiful Cotswold villages and historic towns including Stow-on-the-Wold with its impressive market square, Chipping Norton with a good range of shops, The Slaughters which are quite simply picture-postcard pretty and Bourton-on-the-Water.

Despite having all of these amazing attractions on the doorstep, you may prefer to stay within the privacy of the grounds of the estate. The 70-acre estate features three wildlife ponds, streams, a bluebell wood, orchard and vineyard. The three-mile walk around the edge of the estate provides opportunities for bird watching, and it is possible to arrange for other activities including laser clay-pigeon shooting, zorbing and team sports events such as mini Olympics which is great fun for hen and stag parties.

The Cotswold Manor Estate has seven other self-catering properties, each being dog-friendly, sleeping between 10 and 26 guests. While each enjoys their own privacy, they can be hired together to accommodate larger parties, making the estate a centrally located, highly desirable venue for large gatherings.

Whether you are celebrating a milestone event, or simply gathering all your favourite people in one place to enjoy their company, the owners of The Manor Vineyard will make sure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable.
