About The Manor Court

The Manor Court is the perfect venue for your group holiday or celebration. The elegant barn conversion comfortably accommodates 24 guests (or 30 with the additional of 4 full-size extra beds by arrangement) in ten bedrooms, with every consideration given to ensuring guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. There are eight other properties of varying sizes on The Cotswold Manor Estate, which can be booked together with the Manor Court to accommodate larger groups for events like a milestone occasion or reunion. Although the kitchen is well-equipped to cater for everyone, the house is only a mile from the Lord Kitchener gastropub which can happily provide food and drink in a great setting.

The Cotswolds has long been recognised as one of Britain's leading holiday destinations, and the Cotswold Manor Estate demonstrates why perfectly, with its 70-acres of parkland that include ponds and streams, bluebell woods, a fruit orchard and even a vineyard. The owners have created a wildlife walk from which you can spot owls, buzzards, ducks, herons and kingfishers. British weather is not always kind to outdoor activities, but that does not matter with the estate's fantastic Games Barn where guests can play pool, table tennis and air hockey, or create a game of your own using the sports equipment provided. The extensive grounds also lend themselves well to activities like laser clay pigeon shooting, archery or even an invigorating boot-camp training session!

Drag yourself away from the beautiful house and grounds, and you will discover the delightful eastern Cotswolds where there is an Instagram-worthy view around every corner. Fans of Downton Abby may recognise Church View and St Mary's Church in the nearby village of Bampton, which also has a fantastic local butcher who can tell you the provenance of every cut of locally-reared meat he sells, a small supermarket where you can top up the essentials like milk and bread, and an antique centre.

Just a short drive from the Cotswold Manor Estate are some favourite Cotswold attractions such as The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Kelmscott Manor and Cogges Manor Farm. The magnificence of Blenheim Palace and grounds will take your breath away, with the splendour of Sir Winston Churchill's birthplace being in sharp contrast to his modest family grave a mile away in the churchyard at Woodstock.

The ancient city of Oxford is under 20 miles from The Manor Court giving you the opportunity to happily gorge yourself on history, art and architecture, as well as excellent shopping and a lively calendar of entertainment. Alternatively, spend your days touring the Cotswolds and discovering the charm of picturesque market towns and villages like Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Bourton on the Water and Chipping Norton.

Despite it's peaceful, rural setting, The Cotswold Manor Estate is simple to reach from the Midlands, south and south-east of England, making it an ideal venue for getting everyone together, regardless of where they live. The owners have taken great care to create a property that is relaxed and welcoming, combining original features with modern convenience to create a special place for your group holiday.

Location (The Cotswolds)

The Manor Court has been sympathetically converted to create an impressive holiday-home with spacious, open plan living areas and quiet peaceful bedrooms. Accommodation is over two levels, with heating under the oak flooring downstairs keeping the barn at a comfortable temperature all year round.

Accommodation Comprises:

Downstairs:

  • An entire wing of the barn is dedicated to socialising and relaxing, with a wall of windows and vaulted ceiling creating a light, welcoming space with room for everyone to congregate.
  • The living area has lots of leather sofas with space for guests to sit and chat, or chill in front of the large HDTV. As well as satellite channels, the barn also has super-fast Air-Fibre broadband so that guests can use their tablets and smartphones with ease. The living area flows smoothly into the dining area where two long tables make it possible for everyone to sit and eat together if desired. The neutral decor of the room means it is equally suited for relaxed meals as for formal dinners.
  • Spacious modern kitchen which is well-equipped to cater for big groups of people, whether you are cooking bacon and eggs for a lazy brunch or putting on Christmas dinner with all the trimmings! A multi-oven range cooker means cooking and reheating multiple dishes is simple, while built-in cupboards and a tall, American-style fridge-freezer provide ample room for storing food. The kitchen also has a dishwasher and a washer/dryer for added convenience.
  • Six of the barn's ten bedrooms are on the ground floor. Four of the rooms have ensuites with a shower, WC and handbasin. One room is ideal for wheelchair users as it has wider doors, a wet room with underfloor heating, and a layout that has been designed with wheelchair access in mind. All of the bedrooms on the ground floor can accommodate two people. There are zip-link beds in some of the bedrooms, allowing them to be set up either as twin rooms with two 3ft single beds or with one super-kingsized (6ft) bed. Please let the owner know your requirements when booking.
  • Family shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • There are four further bedrooms upstairs: two triple rooms and two double rooms. As with the rooms downstairs, zip link beds can be set up as two singles or one super-kingsized bed to suit your needs.
  • There is a shower room at both ends of the hallway, with a walk-in shower, WC and handbasin in each one.

Outside: The Manor Court has beautiful private gardens which include a patio area with garden furniture close to the house, a flat lawn area and a hot tub. There is parking for numerous cars next to the house. Facilities shared with guests in the estate's other properties include 70-acres of parkland and an indoor games area. An Events Barn is available to hire for meetings, parties and sit-down meals for up to 65 people.

Additional Information: The Manor Court is pet-friendly, with well-behaved dogs being welcome for an additional charge and owners receiving a doggie box with treats and essentials to ensure their furry friends have a comfortable stay. All utilities, sheets and towels are included in the cost of hire, although guests are asked to bring outdoor towels for use with the hot tub. Smoking is allowed in the gardens and grounds, but not inside any of the properties on the estate. The owner is happy to help in any way they can, and can advise on local catering companies and help arrange activities.

Prices are charged as follows: Short breaks are offered all year round costing from £2900 (low season) to £3950 (high) for a one to three-night weekend break or one to four-night mid-week break. Full pricing can be found by clicking through to the owner's website where online booking is also available.
