The Manor Grange is a beautiful property in a heavenly location. Built from the famous Cotswold stone, whose warm honey tones expresses a warm welcome on even the most bitter of winter days, the former farm building is now a wonderful self-catering Cotswold cottage for groups of up to 30 people. It is perfect for annual holidays with far-flung family and friends, team building events, special birthday celebrations, hen parties and stag weekends.
The Manor Grange is one of nine superb self-catering properties on The Cotswold Manor Estate. Each property has a private garden with an outdoor hot tub and barbecue area, as well as shared use of 70 acres of grounds that include ponds, an orchard, picnic areas and a Games Barn. There is ample space to arrange activities like spa days, zorbing, pottery and archery.
Outside the gates of the estate, the beauty of the Cotswolds beckons. Bampton village is close by, and visitors may recognise St Mary's Church from the world-famous TV series, Downton Abbey. The village has a fascinating past as it was one of the most prosperous of the Cotswold Wool towns in the middle ages and hosted US troops during WWII. In addition to a small supermarket, cafe and pub, the village has an excellent butcher where you can buy locally reared meat for a tasty barbecue.
The spires of Oxford are only 20 miles from The Cotswold Manor Estate, making it easy to spend a day or two sightseeing, shopping and enjoying the city's pubs and restaurants. Alternatively, spend the day marvelling at the riches of Blenheim Palace before stopping off at the nearby village of Bladon and pay your respects at the grave of Sir Winston Churchill, who was born at Blenheim Palace and buried at St Martin's Church.
Time spent touring picturesque Cotswold villages such as Upper and Lower Slaughter will give you Instagram-worthy holiday photos to go with your memories. Other attractions within easy reach include Bicester Village Designer Outlet, The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Kelmscott Manor, and Buscot Park.
Organising a holiday for a big group is not easy but the managers of The Cotswold Manor Estate will do what they can to help, including putting you in contact with local businesses who can assist with activities and catering. You can find out more about The Manor Grange and the estate's other properties on their website.
